whats the best game system

"Best game system" has been discussed in several polls and threads on GTPlanet. There are few systems that don't obtain some title for "greatest system". Even Nintendo and Atari have "greatest system" .... for their time.

Personally, I think Intel hardware and Windows 95/98/2000/XP make the best gaming system. In the past seven years, the best games have been on the computer, and the hardware has out-performed any console. This is because computers are upgradable at any time, taking advantage of the latest and greatest of everything. Consoles can take years to design, and thus put them a year or more behind before they are even released.

Also, the software can be regularly update on a computer at any point. No so with a stamped CD that is not loaded to a fixed disk, as in the case of consoles. GranTurismo 2 is a perfect example. The game was unbeatable ... and could not be fixed.

However, TurboGraphix16 was pretty sweet (: Except it didn't have enough games. How many were there? 28 total?

Uh, why are you even bothering to explain anything to this guy?

Because OBVIOUSLY he's not the only one that is going to be looking at this thread. (:

Better than The I dream of Genie theme. ;)

Hey now, that song is groovy baby! (: and besides ... she was a FOX! WOOOOO!

Did you watch Nick-at-Nite back in the day? Before TV Land had its own station? For a Nick-at-Nite commercial (on Nick-at-Nite) they did a spoof on a popular British song, of which I can not remember the artist or title.

"I'm sitting on the sofa
There's a TV in the corner
I'm watching Dream of Genie
Major Helie something something ..."

I forget how it goes. It was pretty cool though.

My favorite was one that was more of a poem. This one I remember perfectly:

When you get home from work,
Where your boss is a jerk,
And you feel like a truggalidite.
There's instant relief,
From this hardship and grief
Thank goodness for Nick
*dooodly-do* at Nite!

Hehheh the smurfs game heh heh heh

Man, that was the coolest thing EVER. If you think about the technology they had to work with, that game was amazing. Simple stuff that other games didn't include until a decade later - like the Smurf would tip-toe on a ledge and pretend to be about to fall off.

I'm afraid that I go to bed too early for Nick at night, I barely make Nick in the evenening ;) I dream of Genie and Bewitched still plays in syndication on a Fox channel here though during the day. :D

First off, it's t-u-r-b-o-g-r-a-f-x, thankyouverymuch. Secondly, Bonk is on his way to your house to inflict major cranial damage for uttering such blasphemy. :D

Have you (or anyone else here) ever played Lords of Thunder?
