What's the best way to assess your progress of improving your driving line/setup?

I know that for each track layout, you can see your leaderboard for the best times you've set in a given session, and what car was used and the class it was in. But how do you specifically track any improvement you've made to your technique and/or setup? Is there indefinite space on this personal leaderboard, and you can sort it just like you would with the garage? I.e. by class, by car, and so on? Can you delete superfluous entries?

EDIT: And is it just me, or is there no little icon to tell if you've obtained all golds in a GT League event? Also, does the little "wins" number for an event (and on the main menu tab to select GT league between the laurels) go up if you repeat a race you've already won and win it again?

Lap times ;)

Consistent lap times.

Before I got my wheel I wrote down my time for a custom 30 lap endurance race at Suzuka.

After 1 month I decided to try it again and managed to beat my time by 1.5 minutes. It’s not that I’m way faster than before but I make much less mistakes. Chuffed:tup:

Edit: Forget what I just wrote. The OP asked specifically about driving line/setup. Misread that

Line and setup wise you can tell from the live delta time vs your best lap wich is displayed in the HUD. But this will work best when you can drive laps/sectors consistent. If consistency is all over the place thats not gonna tell you much.

Agree.
The live timer is invaluable when experimenting with different lines... understand that it ought to go red... it's what happens before and after that you need pay attention to and assess... just because it goes red for a bit does not mean what you did was "slower" - cumulatively...
