What's the purpose of the overtaking challenges?

Have seen a lot of these vids but really don't have any idea what the purpose of them is. Don't get me wrong, I actually really look forward to running them, I just don't know what the end goal of them is as far as the game goes.

There is no "overtaking challenge mode" in the game.

I guess it's just what the guy calls them on Youtube then. I assumed it was an actual game mode. Looking at it now he's probably just doing a race and starting last for fun. My bad!

He's talking about what "failrace" has been doing on YouTube for fun. He basically starts at the back of the pack and tries to work his way to the front in a certain Amount of laps. I know I'm going to try it. Looks like fun. I guess you would set the ai to where your just barely Faster. Then set a challenging amount of laps. Hey this could be fun to pass to your friends to see if they can do it. Hmmmmm

I never say never again... a promise you will hugely struggle to keep.

I also intend to buy GT7... so if I'm going to complete that I guess I'll have to break that promise at some point. 50 years seems about right for the next GT release date too... pah har har.
