What's up guys, I have always wondered, why did it take PD 5 years to release GT5? Now before People get the idea that i dont like GT5, DON'T, Because i do, in fact i love it. And do you guys think it will take GT6 this long as well? As to my second question, im in no way bored of GT5 nor am I saying GT6 needs to be released next year, just curious thats all lol. I apologize in advance If this thread has been made ( couldn't find one) or is in the wrong place. :)

This is a locked thread, but it has some pretty good answers in it, the main one being that it took 6 months to model a Premium car.

Ahh thanks, I have always wondered. Since that thread is locked, are there any more like it or will this be locked as well?

This will probably be locked, and my search for "why did gt5 take so long" came up with that. There are definitely others.

Ok thanks.

Not sure if it was noted there, but they had to re-design the entire game engine to work on the PS3. This is why they said that GT6 won't take nearly as long to develop, since it will probably run off GT5 as a base.

They had teams working on the cars concurrently. Much of the delay was in the workload. They released Tourist Trophy and GT-PSP within that time (remember, this is a company which only traditionally works on one title, so they don't have the flexibility that bigger ones do...) and they had it mostly finished over a year before release (about a year and a half after Prologue, if I recall), but Sony asked them to add certain features to that final cut.

And like that one, this one gets locked... we've had several threads about this topic before.

Sorry.
