What's The Worst Car To Start With?

I'm just finishing up a couple of 100% runs of the A-Spec and Plus mods and was wondering if anybody would like to recommend a really crappy car to start off with and also some bad ideas for races/championships in general, I want to really stretch my self this time!

Yeah I don't think there's anything slower than the 500R in the dealership, and it's also expensive enough to make any major upgrades unaffordable. It's got too much power in GT2 (26hp instead of 18hp) but also has gearing that's way longer than it should be, hurting it further.

For a more possible challenge, there are a few of the lower-powered kei cars on sale on day one - the Daihatsu Opti Club Sport is available in all regions and despite the name only has a 55hp non-turbo instead of the maximum 64hp allowed in the class, plus the Move CX is available in the US version with the same power output. There's also the 58hp Mira TX that's just barely affordable new, but it's accidentally got the 64hp engine from the TR unless you're playing GT2+ specifically which fixes it. Any of them should be a challenge against the 95-100hp tuned cars in the first Sunday Cup race.

I remember a lot that i ever used that FIAT 500R just for grinding enough cash to get even turbo upgrades! Same as Renault Twingo.

Thanx for the replies guys, some really painful sounding options there just what I wanted.

No I'm just finishing up GT2+ (which was great by the way, cheers) I'll be going back to A-Spec for the next playthrough.

I've been watching The Real Emile's Hotlap Classic and Hot Lap Classic Remastered for idea and all the cars mentioned are very near the bottom if not the bottom, so I'll be picking one of them for sure.

Back in the day I seem to remember I started one playthrough with the Midget II, that was a slog. Hehe.

I've finished Plus to 100% now I've gone back to A-Spec!

I picked the Opti, and yes it was a nightmare, hehe, just what I wanted.

I sold that and moved on to a Toyota Starlet Turbo S from '87, won a few races and won the Supra from the first Japanese national race, I now have no car and just over 33 grand. For the 150 to 250 hp races what would be my stupidest purchase?

The Wagon R Column FT (the symmetrical '97 model) will tune to just over 150hp and has a 3-speed auto, I imagine that wouldn't be great. Alternatively, the used car versions of the 1.8-litre Galant and Legnum have very few upgrades and are a lot heavier than the Wagon R, to the point where a fully tuned '97 Legnum is only barely better than a tuned Opti. For new cars, the Honda Z will also reach 150hp tuned, and has its 4-speed auto mistakenly geared to about 400km/h instead of 150, so enjoy using 1st gear.

For me i somehow ended up picked the Peugeot 106 to start the career mode on Project A-Spec Mod.

I'll be sure to try out your suggestions, some truly painful sounding cars there.

I'm in LOVE!

I read your comment and thought I would try the 106, (the none Rallye version) and I love it, it's the perfect starter car, you can win most if not all races under 250hp in it, maybe even higher, it handles spot on and when set up nice it feels like it's dancing across the tarmac.

Well I have been well and truly side-tracked by the 106, to the point where I have started again to see just how many races I could win in it.

The answer is 45 races without Super Soft tyres and Race moding but everything else fitted and 2 more so far with Race mod but still no Super Softs.

Still got a couple of races against mid 600hp cars I don't think I have a chance against, but you never know!

Well I put Super Slicks on and got another few race wins, I've managed 52 race wins with everything fitted on the amazing 106!

It's made me think just how few cars you could actually complete the game in now!
