What's up with the Mclaren F1?

I love the Mclaren F1 in GT5, the engine is great, and even on comfort soft (I feel the sports hard are too grippy and offer much too high lateral g) tyres it is easy to drive and very fast.

But there are a few things wrong:
The suspension is relatively very firm. The real car would roll and pitch a lot, far more than you can make happen in GT5. (I have used the softest spring rate available from the race suspension, which I believe is softer than the standard "sports" package). It's as though they have used the F1 LM settings, which is disappointing.

Could they also have used the F1 LM drag co-efficient figures? Because I don't see the GT5 McLaren F1 hitting 230mph, nevermind 240mph and the GT wing on the LM road car is a big air brake.

I'm not pleased with this car on the Nür, the crazy circus top tent bonnet view makes this car look like something that came out of Rocky Horror picture show, although not a bad thing.

Top speed wise - the McLaren F1 has top speed of 372 km/h (in real life). 390+ if the rev-limiter is removed.
Love the car in GT5 and irl, best car ever made.

I own two high performance cars and the suspension travel is limited and firm. I've never driven a McLaren F1, but I've seen video and they don't move around very much.

I imagine the car in the game shouldn't pitch and roll much at all.

Bear in mind that we're talking relative terms here. The standard F1 was very much meant to be the ultimate road car, and was relatively, and quite famously actually because it made it truly usable on the road and very comfortable, relatively softly sprung. Watch this video (the second half mainly) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7Azl-drqMk

To be fair most cars in gt5 don't pitch or roll enough either.

Am I the only one who can't steer this thing? Everything else bar some I'm fine with this though...oversteers then understeers madly.

Not happy how you can't reach real cars top speed :(

The real car that did 243 mph was the first year or two, after that they detuned it some IIRC.

I have close ups of the one that was owned by Larry Blair or Arciero-Blair racing near the end of the CHAMP car era. He drove it to the race in Monterey (Laguna Seca).

A really beautiful car inside and out.
