Ok first of all let me say I positively love this darn game I got hooked on it in 1 sitting. But I also race nascar online and am just wondering why the GT folks hate nascars so much? I mean the driving pshyics for the GT cars are awesome but man when you go to race the nascar races the cars handle like crap they do realize these are race cars but they handle like supercharged yugos come on. Mabe I am jaded cause of my nascars online racing but I truly believe they should handle better than they do. Please if anyone disagrees or agrees let me know .
Thx

3500 pound car. Add the downforce and you have an American Bugatti Veyron.

It doesn't handle that bad - I've managed 1:10's at the TGTT with full downforce and a bit of tuning.

Well, the cars are not exactly nimble compaired to other cars ( V8 Supercars) with current suspension, and not so heavy. Many Race Series have less horse power and can go just as fast as NASCAR can. There is many things to say about NASCAR, but PD did do them quite well. It takes some time to get use to the cars.

I think it handles just fine for a large, powerful, heavy car.

to lobby people. Haters Gona Hate.... But still i like it. They maby don't like it because it's a very heavy car and you can't really tune it........

Ok i guess its just me then like I said I`m used to racing nascar. I know that even the tracks for nascar are a bit off but its cool just another learning experience. Thx for thr reply guys mabe I`ll see ya out there some time.

You're talking to a self proclaimed NASCAR pro here (lol, just thought I'd put that out there, you know, to promote a few laughs) and I think they handle just fine for what they are. I have been running them since release therefor it is like second nature to me. Its the other cars in the game that I have problems with, lol.

I had no idea that you were a NASCAR fan. Had no clue. :dopey:

What exactly are you comparing it to? Other NASCAR games? Who's to say those games are wrong, and GT is correct?

I think the Nascars handle just fine for how much they weigh, they're great fun on a road course surprisingly.

I have to buy that NASCAR in that video. The circle patterns on it makes it look clown car-ish! :D In my personal opinion of course. :scared:

I've been trying to find good NASCAR rooms for a while that doesn't include:

*Unemployed gaming sessions with way to many laps for a person that has work besides GT5.
*Dirty in the title
*punters that doesn't care if they crash as well...
*Skid Recovery Force...

The servers are scarcely few.

Truthfully, none of us can say whether or not the stock cars handle like the do in real life because none of us has even driven a stock car to it's limit IRL.

However, based on a quote from Richard Hammond, who has driven a stock car, the brakes should be terrible on the stock cars.

Good luck with that. Those reasons, along with a few others, are why I quite racing online. It was just getting to be one big headache. Haven't been online for about 4 months now.

Handle better? They handle way too good as they are now. I find the level of downforce a bit crazy without knowing much about Nascar.

Yeah. That's also why I wouldn't have time for iRacing either :(
