When I first saw the comercial for the car I thought it was a Skyline R34 (I think it was a close up on the front grill and it was similar). But looking at the whole car I found out that it wasn't one... And then the Scion logo comes up..... I believe that this car was made for the U.S. market only... I have no clue about anything about the car and am wondering how you guys think of it.
I found some specs on the car from the official web page...
Engine : Double overhead cam (DOHC) 16-valve VVT-i 4-cylinder
Displacement : 2.4 liters
Bore x stroke : 88.5mm X 96mm
Compression ratio : 9.6:1
Valvetrain : Double overhead cam (DOHC) 16-valve with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i)
Induction system : Multi-port EFI
Ignition system : Electronic with Direct Ignition System (DIS)
Horsepower : 160 hp @ 5,700 rpm
Torque : 163 lb.-ft. @ 4,000 rpm
Transmission : 5-speed manual overdrive Standard
4-speed electronically controlled transmission (ECT) Available
Suspension :
Front MacPherson strut
Rear Double wishbone suspension
Steering : Power assisted rack-and-pinion steering
Turning Circle : 36.1 ft.
Brakes : Power-assisted 4-wheel disk with Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS)

For now, I have no clue of what to think of the car. It will be priced under $ 20,000....

No R34 and it will be in japan i bet.
i like it too.

I'm not a fan of the current Scion's, but this one is sucking me right in... Give me the optional TRD Supercharger and I'm happy.:D

I think it looks like a nice car, but I'm not to fond of the grill, it just doesn't suit the car IMO. With the cars, aggressive curvy proportions and a square grill like that they don't go to well together to me. Meh, its still nice car, but I do get what you mean, about the front looking like a skyline.

i agree i think the sales are gonna go up on this scion.

The tC is definitely more impressive than the two toasterovens that Scion has already released. It still doesn't stand out in any way that I can tell, though.

I just have a few questions. Why the hell did they only give it 160 horses? What the **** does tC stand for; is it just two random letters like xA and xB? Why does it look like they just slapped together parts from about 7 other cars?

Isn't the tC meant to replace the Celica?

Not just yet - though I've heard through "inside sources" that Toyota is absolutely appalled at the Celica's slow sales. It's set to be redesigned for the 2005 model year, which leaves them with a few options - either a redesign, a cancellation, or simply converting the product into a Scion, either with something as big as a new product (tD?) or as small as a slightly larger engine - perhaps the 3.0L 6-cylinder from the Lexus IS300 and Lexus GS300 isn't entirely out of the question, along with the 210bhp 3.0L V6 from the Toyota Camry and Toyota Avalon. They'd really make the tC go.

I think the main reason the Celica doesn't sell.......the price. Last I checked, they were still kinda steep in the price department.

I saw the Tc online at skool a long time ago when my friend went to the scion website (during which time we were supposed to do research) and he customized one. I never have seen one though...I think its just another small Camry kinda car...

I think they're kind of low in the spec department and also the horsepower department. Price seems about right for its position in the class.
