What's up with the tourque number in GT3?

Hi all this is my first post here, at least under this profile (can't remember my last one). First of all I hope I don't affend any of you with my profile name. If you can't read it, it says RICERS SUCK, respectively. Let's get to the point. In GT3 when you go to the specs page for your car it says 57.2 or something like that.:boggled: :boggled: . What is this, does it mean 572 ft lbs of tourque or what. Thanx for any responses.


P.S. I hope you like this car. It isn't mine so don't call me phony or anything like that, but it is my favorite car. 1970 Chevelle by Chevrolet with a 454 cid engine with headers. 550 HPand 500 ft. lbs tourque BABY

The number presented is usually torque in kgm - to arrive at a rough lbft figure, multiply by 7. To arrive at a better lbft figure multiply by 7.231.
 
Yeah, the torque figures are the newton-metres or whatever the metric unit is, except they are labelled foot-pounds. So do as Famine says.

What do you mean by ricers? Anyway...what Famine and Duke said is about right.

Ty for the replies that really confused me. hey dodge the viper.....have you seen the cars, like the civics, integras, maybe cavaliers but mostly japan cars that are lowered, have weird multicolor paintjobs with huge 18 inch wheels, coffee can size mufflers and wings...those are ricers.:rolleyes: the kids who drive them always seem to think they can win if they race a muscle car just because it is heavy,:lol: there is no beating american iron and hp.

Actually, My friend has a car that runs way past any muscle I have ever met, and since that would be a 502 big block with a supercharger (ya know, the ones with huge 3 in. belts) and nos, I do believe that "Ricers" as you say can beat "American Iron and Muscle". It just happens to be a Nissan Skyline R34 GTR with twin Greddy turbos and a Greddy "coffee can" exhaust. Did I mention the car he raced against was a 70's Camaro. Isn't that American? :lol:
 
Well dude, it is a Skyline. Normally you don't see a riced out Skyline, mostly civics, integra, accords, preluds, and the like. So don't even mention a Skyline whooping a camaro, that's no contest, but a stock '69 Camaro Z28 can smoke a 2000-2003 riced out civic.
 
Well ya, cuz Hondas dont really have a comparible engine. I'm just saying, he referred to imports in general so I just said something back that involved an import.
 
alright so any honda like a civic, prelude, integra or other things like that that are modded at all are rice? Ok well how about an early 90's Civic Hatchback with an H22 engine (Prelude engine 190 HP stock) dropped into and some decent mods is still rice even though it runs close to 10's in the 1/4 mile. Besides Japanese cars are not made for straights, most of them are made for the track and could outhandle american muscle cars stock vs stock any day.

Well duh...compare the engines first...if you want to limit the imports to all the ****ty riced out ones then why not limit the muscle cars to the ****ty riced out ones (believe me there are some that are).
 
well g i don't think a 69 camaro would beat a riced out civic i once saw on tv a 20 yr old dude turned his 93 civic hatchback into a rear wheel drive car with an nsx engine in it, so i guess that would give the camaro a run for its money don't ya'll think?:)
 
wtf! guys, the guy said riced out cars...not all imports. RICE, as in stock Civic with neons to light up the night sky, $$ paint job, 20inch wheels and just a muffler with a 6 inch tip. He didnt say skylines or modifed Hondas etc.....

Jeez, you mention rice and everyone gets soo touchy :rolleyes:

Yeah...XPLOSV you're right...I misread "Ricers Suck"'s comment and then skipped to Toyotamatt's and took it wrong.
 
I love how some people are always one sided on this affair. While thier are some "special people" who think big wings and stickers can do wonders for a car, these people need to stop watching the Fast and the Furious everyday. As for labeling every Japanese car as a Ricer thats pretty rough. Most of the people posted that Japanese cars can be built to go as fast if not faster then some souped up domestics. I agree on this matter. Domestics are good cars but the days of pure American muscle are over. Sure thier are Mustangs, Cameros, and Corvettes but these days the cars have become smaller and faster hence the reason Civics and Integras became popular. While the big iron from Detriots days have waned the technology the Japanese cars bring is very hard to match. Plus who cares about the Japanese cars when the european cars such as the GTI can hand domestic cars a beating hands down. Refer to European Car Issue from July 23, 2003

DODGE the VIPER, mate, I was talking about how people react when the word ricers come up. How the term rices seems to be l inked to all Japanese cars......
I was just saying that he was talking about ricers and not all Japanese cars...

With the rices or not issue, each to their own I say. If you like it good on ya. I dont though :odd:
