Hey guys just got the game a week or so ago and I'm not really sure what rally cars to get. I havent gone for any evos or imprezzas because there's just so many of them that seem to be the same and really I just wanted to see what you guys enjoyed driving.

btw, anyone else getting a little p'ed when you get given rally cars as AI on tarmac circuits?
 
I like the RS200 and the Peugeot 206 (I think, the newer one). In GT5P I liked the Evo IX, but no rally tracks to really test it on.

I don't mind the AI getting rally cars on tarmac circuits as much as I dislike the AI getting cars totally unsuited to dirt tracks. I had a race on one of the Cathedral tracks against some Spykers. I almost lapped them in a 3 lap race.
 
i like both the evos and the wrx's, but if you want a suprise go for that little mitsubishi rally car (i forgot the name, looks something like a colt). looks slow but goes like a rocket

Favourite?! Lancia Stratos or Toyota Celica GT-FOUR (ST205).
Then again, I also like the Escort too.

The Colt is indeed good fun. I haven't bought the Group B spec RS200 yet so can't comment on that but my favourite car of all cars so far is the Lancia S4.

You can get it round the Nurburgring on Standard physics in a decent chunk under 7 minutes and on most shorter tracks you'll struggle to beat it, or have as much fun trying. I find it a decent bit quicker than the Peugeot despite their similar spec.

I forgot the S4! 'Tis a very good car, I agree - to be precise all the Lancias are very good cars :).

Subaru Impreza '99 Rally Car.

When I hear the word 'rally', this is the car that instantly springs to my mind.
 
definetly the '03 Mitsubishi Evo Super Rally Car. It has stupidly good traction. I got the newer Subaru Imprezza Rally car but it doesn't have as much grip nor does any other rally car I've raced or driven. I haven't raced a single rally car that can beat the Evo Super Rally Car, snow or dirt. I love it

Being a Scot, it's great to hear it when someone other than a Scot recognizes McRae as the greatest rally driver of all time. Thanks Bud.

OnT; I really wish the Stratos would be my fav, but I just can't seem to get it right through the corners. Just need more practice with it I guess. So far I've really come to like the S4, 206 Rally Car and Lancer Evo Prototype but my dirt skills aren't really up to par yet so I've yet to try all of them.

It's a shame that the Quattro is only available in road form though. I want to see the Group B version in GT5!

There are two answers here: for driveability in the game, the '03 Evo Super Rally Car. For nostalgia/looks I'd give the nod to the Lancia Stratos.
