As per the title, I'm taking franchise to mean 3 movies or more đź‘Ť

my current favorites are:-

1. LOTR
2. X-men
3. Bourne

other's to consider:-

Spiderman
Matrix
Rush hour
Star Wars
Blade
Shrek
Godfather
Back to the future
Jaws
Leathal weapon
Terminator
Alien

while you posted "trilogy", did you really just mean series...'cause Terminator, Alien, Jaws, the Matrix, and X-men (i'm counting origins...it's too ingrained to the first 3 not to..) all are more than 3 movies in the series...
which is no big deal, just opens up the possibilities for bigger-than-trilogies in your discussion ;)

Star Wars Original...as in PRE special edition

Yeah, I thought about that after I'd started the thread, I guess "Whats your 3 favourite movie franchise's" would have been a better title.

Star Trek, Alien, Superman, Leathal Weapon, James bond etc all fall into the bigger than trilogy category :ouch:

Hmmm, this seems to change based on my mood:

  1. Star Wars
  2. Ocean's Series
  3. Nolan's Batman series

I would have put Star Trek on there, but the problem is that I only like a select few of those movies (Kahn, Journey Home, First Contact, and the new Star Trek).

I'd also like to wrap the Marvel movies into that as an honorable mention, but I'm unsure if we can say that Iron Man/2, Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America would be a single "series" despite overlapping and existing in the same continuity.
