As many of you know several race cars also have road versions and I thought it would be interesting to know: What's your favorite road car? Personally I think the GT 40 road car is especially nice. It looks so clean and just.... tough. Close behind would be the R390. I thinks it looks much better without the large wing in the back.

It's not as if im looking for new information, I just was looking for input from anyone who might have a thought on the subject.

My Favorite Road cars are the GT1,

Lancia Stratos
Skyline Mspec
Porche 996/911

My favotite would be the GT40 Roadcar. I love the sound and the looks of it.

That roadcar doesn't exist. Please take your existential musings elsewhere!
On the other hand. I'd have to say for all pros and cons weighed up, the mild mannered Mini Cooper 1.3i is one of best things to drive.
Once you get the hang of things, pretty much every roadcar has its quirks, and you learn to love & hate features of all of them!

I personally can't get enough of the RUF RGT. I've got 5 in different states of tune, and run them on a regular basis at a handful of enduros.

Hmmm... I could run the Trial Mtn. 2 hours this morning. :)

I might direct you to our lovely Search Function and suggest that you close this thread.
While Heero does have a point, it would be nice to point to a thread showing a similar topic, of even thoguhts on what he needs to search for.

I´m a huge fan of "low"-powered and light cars, such as the Lotus Elise, Vauxhall Vx220 and the Tommykaira ZZ-I. And then there is the Ruf RGT. Those are my favs.

Actually, I think I was mistaken, there doesn't seem to be a thread about this anywhere else, hmmm. Whatever, as Smallhorses said, the Mini is great, and I think I'm still laughing from earlier this morning when I booted up my gameshark and took my Mini to 3000HP:lol:

Personally, I have a constant toss up between the R390 and the RGT. I prefer the R390 bone stock but for tires and, like, Der Alta, the RGT in some state of tune (although bone stock its a contenda!) The GT-One is impossible to find competition for in stock classes... makes it a bit of a novelty item to race against race bodied cars.

@Bullocks@999 I don't know how you drive those things :)

I haven't run into too many cars that I'm not fond of.
I like the Ruf RGT, The R-34 Skyline, The GT-40, the R390.
Now I do hate the big Zonda.
The "little" Zonda is much more tractable until you add too much Power.
In fact, I bet most of you would be supprized at how good the little Zonda really is.

I wonder whether maybe some people have missed the point of this thread. I believe Mr Shooter was inquiring about road-going versions of race cars, i.e. those necessitated by homologation rules for Le Mans etc.

e.g. R390 Road Car, TS020 Road Car, GT40 Road Car, etc.

P.S. Correct me if I'm wrong, icemanshooter23

Thats what I was originally getting at but as many people have been naming cars that technically are considered "road cars" I have no problem with it. And to Heero: Before I started this thread I did a search to see if a similar thread had been previously posted and finding none, decided to start a new thread. And to comment on previous posts it seems many people have come to love the Ruf. It looks like ill have to take it for a spin to get to know it a little better :sly:

For some reason the R390 just looks 10 times cooler as a road car, with its sleek blue paint job and smaller wing.

Well, if we're talking road versions of race cars then I would have yo say the Jaguar XJ220 Road Car, just because not too many people use it, and most don't even know about it.

Is it so hard to to spell it Bollocks

Sorry about that, just trying to be friendly and comment. If I would have been paying proper attention it would not have been hard at all. I suppose it would be a little like caring enough to add proper punctuation. ;)

I'd say the Honda S2000!! Wait, it isn't a Road Car. Or is it? I'm confused...anyway, the Jaguar XJ220 Road Car.

My favorite has got to be the Toyota GT One. It can easily be won, has a high stock bhp,
which doesn't really need modifying until later.Just a bit of tuning with the downforce, gear ratios etc. This is probably a car in alot of racers garages that has the most mileage or close to it.

TVR Tuscan Speed 6 is probably my fave in GT3.
