Wheel double downshifting?

Hi, I use a Thrustmaster Ferrari wheel on the PS3 for GT6.
Sometimes when I change into a lower gear, it skips a gear lower.
Example: From 5th to 3rd gear instead of 5th to 4th.
It's seriously annoying because I lose time when this happens.
Any idea on how to fix?

Make sure it's not somehow double mapped, and be sure you're being very specific with your shifts... but it's most likely the beginnings of switch failure.

DFGT does this too. Using GranTurgismo paddles.

It is an issue I have encountered with 3 wheels: a G25 and 2 Fanatec wheels.

In my case, it was not easilly fixable, the mecanism had to be replaced.
