I plan on buying an xBox One soon and getting into the Forza series. I've been a Gran Truism fan since the beginning, and around GT5 i invested in a wheel and pedals (DFGT) and it really enhanced the game significantly for me.

Is the same true of Forza? I've read some things say that Forza wasn't really designed as much with a wheel in mind, and the overall options for wheels you can buy is lacking compared to Playstation. I know there are wheels out there, but I'm only interested in if the experience will be on par with that of GT and the DFGT.

I bought a DFGT wheel for GT6 and after that I couldn't go back to playing with a controller, shortly after I bought an XBOne, a TX wheel and Forza5. The jump in quality from the DFGT to the Thrustmaster TX was huge so that made it difficult to compare both games. What I can tell you though is that Forza does feel great with a wheel, to me it feels better than how GT felt like using one but again I only tried it with a lesser wheel.

Forza 5 had this deadzone in the middle but Forza 6 doesn't have that problem, it feels awesome. I find the Force Feedback amazing really, you have very subtle effects like when you go over the tar strips at Watkins Glen, drive over the cobblestones in Prague, you also have torque steer simulated and the wheel will wrestle against you. So at least from personal experience I can tell you it's definitely worth it and I wouldn't have a clue as to the why people say FM wasn't designed with a wheel in mind.

I can't comment on fm6 specifically as I only have a T150. But what I can say is that every game I have played with my wheel has come alive as a result. It's a sweet experience and can only presume the same for Forza 6.

I say go for it :)

Just like you, I bought a DFGT for GT5. I got mine several months before the game came out, so I played Prologue in the mean time. I agree with you that it really took not only GT, but racing games in general to the next level for me, whenever I could use it.

I've been playing Forza with a wheel since 2012 starting with a Fanatec CSR and now a CSW V2, and I'm happy to report that getting a wheel for Forza is definitely worth it as well.

The good news is that wheel options have improved on the Xbox One compared to the Xbox 360. You no longer have to settle for high-end wheels like Fanatec if you want a decent wheel for Forza. I've heard good things about the Logitech G920 and the Thrustmaster wheels for Xbox One, but do your own research first just to be on the safe side.

I've seen comments like that, mainly on FM.net. People were saying Forza 6 had terrible FFB, even saying Horizon 2 was better. But after experiencing FM6 with a wheel as well as Horizon 2, I'm just baffled by what they said. Both games have good FFB, while FM6's is a bit better IMO. I'm glad that I didn't let those reports stop me from getting a wheel for Xbox One.

Very much worth it, I would suggest a good set of headphones for immersion. I haven't touched gt6 since.

Nb I started on a ps1 with the original nfs and have been a gt player since.

Running a play seat tx setup.

Edit for Steve jobs typo...

I agree with all the lads here, when I had GT6 going, I got my G27, and it was a lot better than with a controller. I can only imagine what Apex would be like with my wheel... someday I hope, there is always Horizon 3 for my PC! :)

Go for it, you won't regret it.

I have a Logitech g920 and I love it. Really brings the game to life and well worth the price.
Im using the g920 as well on the wheel stand pro and loving it plus the price wasn't too bad either. Wouldn't be seen dead using a controller now

Ive got a wheel, erm does the driver animation only turn their arms so far? and in options on the game the wheel rotation is on 540 , do i need to change it?
