Non i use the D-pad for Drifting and i use the Wheel for just racing hard core. But I voted for anolog cuz its the closest button to the D-pad:)

A silly question.... of course a steering wheel is better than the analog controller. For racing and drifting. More precise control and such. Then again, if you're used to using the analog sticks for drifting or something, it might be hard to get used to a wheel.

When I first tried to Drift I used the wheel but My Viper kept going out of control then I started using the D-pad, maybe it was because I started using a really hard car to drift with in the first place:confused:

The car's fine, but i think you were too nice on your wheel. You need to forget the wheel's feelings and just steer as hard as you can. Otherwise you can't countersteer and such as quickly as needed.

Yea true. I can almost do everything with my 5 Vipers now, I use the Viper for most of my Drifting. But I prefer my GRAND SPORT.

well i hardcore used the D pad for 1 year but in the last little while since signing up @ GTP and absorbing some of the wealth of knowledge about the place i have retrained myself to use the analog and i will never look back until that is GT4 comes out and you can get a wheel that can turn through 900 degrees. then im going to a wheel.

The only problem I have with the steering wheel is that they move around too much, not so much the wheel but the gas and the break. I have a carpet in my room too so I guess the wheel just can't accomodate me ^^

i use the analog sticks, both of them. left stick for steering, right/up for accel, and right/down for brakes. more pressure control. i dont have a wheel yet, although i want to get one.

haha mindless_dude, drifterzzz is gonna start PM'in you about your avatar ;) Caution :)

Analog. I don't have enough money for a wheel, yet :D

900 degrees is gonna be a hassle. the logitech wheels now only go 180 and i still end up hitting my legs with my hands ... i dunno could be cool. mixed feelings aboot it.

They both are pretty good. The analog subtracts the realism, and the wheel is a bit high on the feedback (Driving Force) when you first start to use it, but you get used to it. Also with the wheel, you have more precise control and may have to adjust car settings.
