Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a cheapish wheel, (under £150), and from the looks of it, my two main choices are the DFGT and the Fanatec Porsche 911 Carrera (or are there any others), what in your opinions would be the best wheel for the price? I see they are both roughly the same price.
From what I see the fanatec looks a good choice with the clutch and H-Shifter, but then I've seen people have had problems with the pedals.

Also does the fanatec wheel come with a clamp? If it does is the ClubSport clamp V2 a better option? If I decide to go for that wheel.

Thanks!

The Fanatec wheel does not come with pedals as standard, you will either have to pay for the Standard Pedals, which are £20 or get some Clubsport Elite's, which retail for around £150. Also, if you do decide to get a DFGT, I am selling one at the moment, in great condition. I see you're in Kent, whereabouts if you don't mind me asking?

Huh, maybe it does. I use a G27 at the moment. And I'm in Ramsgate at the moment.

The G27 is awesome mate, for £200 it's fantastic piece of kit. But, watch some reviews first and decide whether it's for you, but you can't go far wrong for that amount of money. 👍

Where did you buy it from? Just had a quick look and the cheapest I can see so far is £229.99, I like the look of the fanatec but seems it has a lot of problems, and the G27 does look very good.

I got it while I was in the states as it worked out as £140 once I had done the $ to £ conversion. So, it was a damn sight cheaper.

Hi - just my 2 bobs worth; I've had both these wheels & considering yer on a budget anyway, I'd be inclined to go for the G27 for the money. Not that the Logitech is a sure bet for trouble free gaming, but it was pretty solid & reliable for me - even with the demands of the Red Bull. I experienced the dodgy brake-pot problem you'll find if you google it - it's annoying, but it's an easy fix really. Some people have experienced bizarre steering inputs with G27s - I may have been a lucky one? Again, there are fixes for that too (somewhere in this forum for sure) on the net. The Fanatec stuff is very nice... though, as you've noted, "can" be VERY problematic. I'm on my 2nd GT3 now & love it... BUT! I won't go near a Red Bull with it for fear of wrecking it. Same goes for the GT2. (Shame I used to enjoy the RB-X1 a lot!) Wouldn't know about the DFGT? But I reckon you won't be disappointed with a G27 :)

Thanks for your reply, It's looking like the G27 could be a good choice even though it's above budget, it silly really, I don't sort of have a budget, but at the same time I don't want to spend like 500+ on something that I'm not sure I'll be able to tell the difference, shame there's no place you can try all the wheels out, to me the Fanatec wheels look fantastic and are fantastic when they work, and it wouldn't bother me but I hear many people say their support isn't great, which puts me off, as if there's a problem, I don't want to wait on email for 2 weeks, the thrustmaster T500 RS, seems like a nice setup, but a bit expensive, the cheapest I've found is £379.99 so that over 140 more than the G27 and 290 more than DFGT which is a lot. I'm leaning towards the G27 because of the clutch and shifter, even if I use the controller, I always race manual with clutch, as I'm a lot faster like that.
