Wheel settings

Hey guys I just purchased the Drive Force GT. I a little confused and overwhelmed with all the different settings for wheels.

What are "good" settings? Is this an okay setup...

Steering Type: Simulation
Power-Assisted Steering: On
Feedback: 6
Active-Steering: Mild (usually switch it to Off)
TCS: Off
ASM: Off

Also, the turning angle I have it on default (40) should that be changed?

Keep in mind that not every setting applies to every wheel. For example I'm pretty sure that the feedback strength setting only does anything on a Driving Force Pro. And I think the "simulation" setting is for the lower-end wheels like the Driving Force EX. It's actually described in the settings menu (text at the bottom of the screen) and there are also icons above that light up when you go from setting to setting. That way you know whether a certain setting applies to your wheel. HTH.

(And I generally turn power-steering off, but I guess that's a matter of personal preference.)

I run my DFGT with all aids off, feedback at 7 and sim.setting.:)

Sim setting has no effect on the DFP, DFGT, or G25. Only the older wheels will be affected by this setting.

My settings are as follows:

All aids off, power assist off (of course), and FFB at 5 or 10 (drifting or racing)

;)

Alright so if the sim setting has no effect on the DFGT, what should I set it to? Professional?

It doesn't matter what you set it to. It has no effect. It's not just the sim setting, it's all of the options. Just leave it be.

;)

i have my ffb set on 4 for driving, its jsut too hard on anything above 5, really have to put effort into moving the wheel.

I think thats the key, power assisted steering off, and with the force feedback just go with what your comfortable with but never forget to augment it every now and then gradually when you feel no resistance anymore
