Hey,

I've searched this forum and the internet and i can't find anything about the wheelie trick. I was reading about it in the 250mph club and so on but still i dont know what it is.

So im asking you guys what is it and how do i do it?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply soptom - very constructive.

I wouldn't mind knowing about this wheelie 'trick' too.

Before someone starts yelling about using the search function...

Try this: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=57585

Please read the entire threads. The explanations are there.

Basically, wheelies technically aren't wheelies in GT4. You can lift your tires off the ground a bit in some cars, but you can't run the quarter mile standing on your rear tires in this game. It's mostly jumping over chicanes and running up/off hills that creates major air in the game.

Oh, and you can always search previous threads too... :)

congrats on the most useless post of the month! 👍
Damn, I only kept it for 5 hours twelve minutes.
What is the point of explaining about a useless "trick" that enables you to get a false top speed by cocking up certain corners? Does it in any way help with the game? As to my reply being useless, that was the point geniuses.

In GT3, you could set certain settings on certain cars (I have only done it on the Escudo) that would lift the front end off the ground at high speeds and then the car would accelerate to insane velocities well over its normal top speed. I have tried to duplicate it in GT4 and I don't think it is possible in this game. You can't steer of course, and you have to be going very fast for it to work to begin with, so it was only really feasible on the high speed ring anyway. Fun, but kind of useless.

I'm done a wheelie but it was only for a second and it was because i hit a bump in the road in a TVR Speed 12.

What course is that? (Nice wheelie, btw! 👍 )

apparently some people do care about it, so who are you to tell them whether they want to now or not?

looks like le mans.

So basically there is a special set up for real fast car the so when ur accelarating the front lifts up. Probably some kind of glitch. I would do it in GT3 but i sold my cars to transfer credit to GT4.

And anyway in GT4 its much easier to get faster cars thats why i think that gt4 is better,

i think the set up was lowering both the spring ratios and ride height to the maximum and setting the front aerodynamics at the lowest while the rear at highest..not sure though as i think that was the way in gt3 i haven't tried gt4 yet.

Although he can be a braggadocios a** at times, Rac3rx' tuner site is quite good. His tunings often lead to many wheelies and speeds of 350+MPH.

For pics and lame arguements.

Muddle through it a bit, and check out his settings. Cry a little at the rants.

If you have ther PAL Australian version the 380 mph wheelie will not work, but if you have NTSC version it does :) , Cause I have both and I cannot do it in the PAL while I can in the NTSC..

I have the aussie version. I dont want to do this so i can say my car went ****kmh i just want to see what happens.

Whats tricky about driving over a bump and landing on your rear wheels?

The proper wheelie trick is when you distibute max downforce to the rear of your car and put your foot down. You can only do this in fast cars such as the Minolta, Sauber etc. You ideally need to tune the car to go 320mph plus+

Yeah i understand now. theres a perfect jump on one of the city tracks. The one on the bay and it has two sharp u turns b4 the straight. A rr car should do good. ill take a pic if i succeed

Wheelies are a myth. You cant stand on ur rear tires off the start. Having said that, if u change the settings properly, and have enough power, u can lift the nose up at the start. Its not the same, but it still looks alright

Coolies. Looks like its started off from one of those drags.

Yeah that's how you do that. I read it somewhere and decided to try it for fun. Also using nitrous really helps get the speed up there quickly.

Here's a pic. I was doing about 358 mph by the end of the back straight on the high speed test. While it looks cool and makes you laugh at first it is really just a novelty that wears off quickly because it is essentially useless for the progress of the game and screws up your high speed records.

The wheelie trick has not yet been accounted for in GT4. In GT 3, a "Toyota GT1 Race car was the one to do this trick and you had to be on the test track to do it. How was it done?

1. Get a Toyota GT1 and fully tune it.
2. Go to the test track
3. Set the gears all the up.
4. Take off everything else (Supension, Limited Slip, Ect.)
5. Start
6. Achieve a 250 -260mph speed and watch the front of the car lift up and you can hit 3000mph, but it will be uncontrolable.

Thanks for the information. I would try it with GT3 but i suck at it. With GT4 i find the physics much better. Like you can feel the weight shifting when you go around the corner.

Go to www.gt4tuneshop.com for a 382mph GTone set up aswell as many other 350mph wheelie cars.

While soptom does have a point, "Why do a wheelie trick to acheive a false top speed" you still could have given the original thread maker some advice on where to find it.

If you didn't feel like telling him, just turn off your damn computer, or ignore his post all together. It saves all the trouble of everyone coming here, wondering if the kid got help, and finding out we have some other kid concocting an arguement in the thread.

ON Topic - I have no advice to give you, seeing as I don't know the wheelie trick myself, and I don't care about it.

( ^ Much better than trying to make the kid look like an idiot)

Hey Rac3rX I ended up getting utp 385 mph on the NTSC version but cannot get better than 365 mph on the Australian PAL..

theres some realy good pics on a thread already on this subject, you wouldnt have found it because its been spelled wrong for some reason..lol.. its no page 2 of the pics and vids part of the forum, i think its spelled wheeies but i cant remember

And i think they've kept it that way purposely. Like PWNED. instead of owned

hahaha thats funny anyways.. its an ass tho wen your trying to search it
