In my honest opinion, you should be able to, WRC cars have license plates. So thus, you should be able to do so? Also, I've been to the 100 Acre Wood Rally in 2011. Just a(n) argument I have, that's all.

Having a plate doesn't make it legal. I can put a plate on Lewis Hamilton's McLaren, yet I bet it still wouldn't pass certification. What you're looking for is mass produced cars, WRC is far from street legal.

I bet you think your purse is Gucci because the tag says so, huh? (I am totally joking and mean no offense).

What? If rally cars aren't road legal then how did they get their license plates in the first place?

I thought they were? The have to be driven from stage to stage via a public road don't they? So they have to be road legal. I don't think I'd use one in a street legal room though, people would start calling it a race car right away and wouldn't be worth the trouble. Unless the host allows it that is.

Rally cars are indeed road legal but it still wouldn't be fair to take them to a street legal room.

I allow RMed cars since there is really no difference the only thing is they are lighter than stock really no other difference between stock and RM so i allow them. But i dont allow rally cars because i dont think they are street legal but if they are ill have to allow them. haha

RM cars are full blown race cars that are completely different from road cars.

I dont think they should be as then people will start saying that d1gp cars should be allowed and then it'll just become a big hassle. D1GP cars can be street legal as the use full exhaust systems. In some countries literally anything can be made street legal. In California, you can license a car with no doors, hood, or fenders as long as they have the emission systems and proper lighting in place last I heard(2yrs ago).

Ok than i guess my real 69 isnt street legal? Its pretty much race modded but its still street legal maybe i shouldnt drive it on the road anymore...  big drag tires on the back a racing suspension everything loud powerful and i race it whatever..

I said nothing about real cars or street legality, I was talking about RM's and how they are vastly different from normal road cars in GT. They are far lighter than the road cars, have downforce levels no road car can achieve (except for the McLaren F1 and R390 which for some reason get massive downforce from the GT Auto wings), have adjustable front downforce, have a higher degree of suspension adjustability, and seem to have chassis stiffening beyond what you get in the tuning shop.

Just look at the Z06 and ZR1 RM's, they are pretty much LeMans GT cars. They have just as much PP, and drive more like race cars than road cars. Lower end RM's like the Camaro, Challenger, Evo, and Lancer aren't in the same class as the Corvettes, but they utterly destroy road cars unless it comes to super high speed, minimal turn tracks.

A WRC car has to be road legal in order to complete the road stages that connect the special stages.

If someone hosts a lobby with the title "street legal" then WRC, Group C, Group A and classic rally cars are by definition eligible.

The problem is; many host are not very knowledgeable when it comes to these matters.

PD isn't helping either (no Race car / Road car filter).

As a matter of fact, PD seems equally confused when it comes to car classification and event restrictions.

But that is a whole other debate for another time and place.

No. Nothing with numbers or decals.

1.36 into the video is marcus gronholm getting stopped by the police for attempting to drive a 3-wheel peugeot 206 rally car to the start of the next stage!

tommi makinen attempting a very similar thing years earlier in what was to be a very dramatic title decider with sainz retiring in view of the finish!

they are very much street legal machines [atleast when they have 4 wheels anyways]!

I'd love to see them bring in two new restriction categories: road car and street legal (as long as they did it correctly). It would be great.

I'd also like to see X1 only and all the restrictions we have and those that I just mentioned but in reverse (NO GT500, NO modern rally cars etc). Then we wouldn't have hosts complaining constantly that "that car isn't fair". I would say it wouldn't be hard to implement, but this IS Polyphony we're talking about.
