SavageEvil, you won't be able to compare the 2 cars because you drove the Saleen too much and never had any interest in the Zonda, plain and simple, period."

Well put Alien, but here's where GT4 falls short, all tires are generic...so they all offer the same levels of grip. Hence when you play only thing left to discern the cars is it's own mechanical grip ability and downforce. IRL the S7 enjoys specifically rated supercar tires which really gets this cars' inputs to the road as well as possible. Hopefully GT5 will include a few of the car tire manufacturers and their data for tires, that would be great if you can get Pirellis, Hankook, Michelin's, Goodyear for vehicles, would make for interesting results on types of compounds. In game advertising will be at an all time high if this is added, but if it helps with bringing realism to a higher level, I can stomach it.

Hey Niky, how are you enjoying the Spirra.
My setup is
497hp
N3's
everything is tuned
wing attached
pulled in 7:36 on the Nür, that was with some safari runs. This is a lil handful of a car, but I just can get enough of this lil bad boy in training.

While that was true a few days ago, I can pretty much drive any car in this game. The learning curve for the Zonda is a little different than the Saleen, where the Zonda oversteers, the Saleen understeers. I'm a FR car driver mainly, so I'm used to oversteer, and I have tamed the Ford GT quite well, so the Zonda is no different.

But like I said in stock form, the Zonda isn't very stable, it's suspension isn't setup for track performance as you shake rattle and roll at high speeds. But as it is in the game it is a better driving car than the S7, but I still prefer the S7, nothing feels better than laying on the power out of a turn.

...dry??

I didn't understand the "dry" thing either...

My Spirra is all stock on N3's no wings, no traction control, nothing. It's lots of fun without downforce.

@Alien: As for lateral grip, the skidpad on the Gymkhana course is around 200 feet in diameter. You can approximate real world skidpad numbers by turning the g-meter on and going round in a car. On N2s, the lateral g's shown in a maintained turn (in other words, held for at least one whole rotation) should approximate "stock" lateral g's. With supercars, you might see this on N3s, though... I'm not sure, as I've only taken street cars on that pad.

Older members may remember this... newer members may have to look up "real world tires" threads via the search function.

Tire functions are generic in GT4, but mechanical grip differs according to stock sizes. Thus, a Saleen on SuperSoft Racing tires will still have more grip than a Honda S2000 on the same tires.... which has tons more grip than a Fiat 500 on the same tires, likewise.

In other words, even with both cars on N's, the Saleen should have more grip... skidpad time!

Anyone having problems driving the S7 should know, by default the car is set to understeer. They set up is tight going in and tight going out of turns, why do you ask, well for one it's a 500+hp car, oversteer is dangerous in those things. The S7 was built as a race car for the street, all race cars are wound tightly. Just throw in custom suspension and set the front rebound lower and the rear bound high, that should give you oversteer out of turns and ease up that mid corner throttle understeer.
