What do you guys think? Right now You have to pay $600 for the wheel and pedals, then when the shifter comes out you have to buy it separately. So after it's released, do you think it will be included in the box for new buyers? So $600 bucks for the entire package?

I think they will keep the wheel package as is and sell the shifter as an extra. We'll see.
Including the shifter in the basic package would even further raise the price of an already quite expensive product and they probably won't offer both packages (with and without the shifter). It probably makes more sense to sell the shifter as an extra, because eventually most T500 RS will buy a shifter, but new customers might not decide to buy the wheel if the starting price is 100$ higher.

They stated the shifter would be a seperate purchase.
This allows people who want the shifter to buy it and to use with PC wheel/pedals they already own.

They may well sell a new bundled deal with shifter/wheel included a little cheaper than separate prices but why would they throw one in free?

You also can't exclude the possibility that 2 different shifters could be released, one sequential (which I'm hoping for) and one H... also they could release a handbrake that plugs into the shifter module. So many racing cars utilize seq. gearboxes, so to drop that entirely like the Logitech with their G27 did, would really be a let down for racing fans. So I think the wheel will continue to be sold as it is.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do when they do release the shifter. I already have my t500rs wheel stand pro which did not include a shifter mount. So no doubt we would have to order that part (maybe it will be the same g27 shifter mount I dunno)

And then we will run into a brick wall again when it comes to games fully supporting t500rs once more on consoles.... Because games like dirt 3 will obviously release w/o shifter support....

Anyway, hoping they have a lot of good news for us at E3. Like Mr Latte pointed out, they are on the exhibitor list. I hope its news about the shifter :dopey:

I am really used to the paddles though. The shifter would just be a nice accessory to have

I'm curious as to where the shifter is going to plug in... There's 3 ports on the back of my wheel and they're all in use

I had the same concern because like you, I have the ps3 slim (2 usb ports). But in that other t500rs shifter thread awhile back people explained to me a usb hub would eliminate the issue I had with that
