PS3 version here. It seems like everytime I go online in Shift 2, there's only 5 or so available events to join (mostly races, sometimes others.) Am I doing something wrong or are there really that FEW people playing at any one time? Is this some weird port thing? I really like Shift2 and GT5 but theres ALWAYS a TON of people on GT5. I know everyone loves to complain about this game but it seems like it sold fairly well and there's certainly a community of players here so I'm a bit confused.

You have to remember, when a race starts, it wont come up on the list. Also, the issues with online collision detection, lame rammer kids, and a great offline mode, limit the online. After joining quite a few online races randomly, I have concluded I will only play with people on my friends list. It has worked out MUCH better.

My advice is to get some folks on your friends list that are mature, clean drivers and play with them. Also there is a Legends race league that has been AWESOME, and always gives you great competition with clean drivers.

I myself get enough online racing with the pre-arranged or directly with friends. AutoLog is racing against human opponents just not simutaneously - VERY addicting and unlimited competition. If anyone owns S2U and does not use AutoLog your missing the boat.

I found that most of the people that play this game live in Europe. So playing from 2-5pm EST would help to find more games.

Thats true, but there are plenty of USA folks as well. My buddy and I play almost every night for a few hours.

I usually play a little-until someone rams me to kingdom come, if I'm lucky only happens in the third or fourth race:lol:- every night, at late hours 1~2 a.m. GMT and most drivers I find are Americans...though lately I've came across against a few, fast:scared: , Japanese drivers!👍

Everyone is a sore loser online that quits when losing...similar to how Gran Turismo 5 prologue was.

I had a race where the guy deliberataly rammed me off at the first corner, I catch up pass him which while doing he attempts to hit me but misses, then he quits.

This was on Bathurst where at the final chicane he would cut the grass everytime gaining ZERO time and also getting a 5 second penalty. Just sad, why do people like that buy these types of racing games?

I am thinking of getting GTP members together and organising online races just for fun. Anyone interested? I think it will elimenate the random bashing that is online at the moment 💡

Actually I thought about asking you what comes next after the Legends League. Maybe a D- or C-Class Championship? That could be cool.
