I've been wondering if it's alright to cuss on the forums or not, but I can't find the darn rules.
^Please don't ban me for that.
lol

The "rules" of the forum are very simple and, as I've mentioned, presented clearly to you before you join the forum. They're not hard to remember, either. And I JUST noticed the "Forum Guidelines" on this sub-forum. Crap. :S
Well, if I may be so bold to post a suggestion, there should be a link, simply labeled (like "Rules") up around the top where search, My GTPlanet, etc. is.
The others are tucked away.

You click register, you enter you DoB, and then you are met with a couple of paragraphs containing...I wasn't saying anything about the rules themselves, rather where the link should be placed. So it's more visible.
Once read you tick agree and proceed.By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
Quoted for the truth. The AUP is like a glass knife, you get a glimpse of it when you join, then it disappears, then it guts you. People tend to remember things better if they see them often, the AUP isn't one of those things.Personally i think the AUP link at the bottom 'blends' in with the Privacy Policy and all the other stuff i don't generally read on forums/websites etc.
I think a Forum Rules link would probably get more people clicking it since it's more appropriate/obvious/relevant sounding?
I dunno, i've always had this view but never voiced it until now.

You can self-censor if it's done fully. Typing "****" is acceptable, but if you typed the word in full, the forum will do that for you anyway. Typing "****"* is unacceptable because you've deliberately partially self-censored a word, leaving little doubt as to what you meant it to read, and thus bypassed the filter we have in place to eliminate this sort of thing. The same goes for replacing characters such as "$h!t"* in order to make something that shouldn't be here appear.
Jordan wishes this this site to be a place of intelligent and friendly discussion, and swearing contributes nothing to that. You have the option to use a 🤬 smiley, which conveys the same meaning, without the necessity to use the real words or make the effort to bypass the filter.
*Don't bother reporting this post, I know what I did here, and it's being used as an example of what not to do!
Or do you agree to everything without reading it first?

Yeh you can cuss we will be saying good bye to you though if you do.![]()
If you must swear, and we'd rather you didn't, please let the swear filter asterisk out the whole word, or use the 🤬 smiley. Do not attempt to (badly) censor it out yourself whilst leaving it plainly obvious what the word is.

Will we? Ever heard of the swear filter?
Folk who receive a warning/infraction for obscene language from me receive something like the following...
How's this?
![]()
activity's.
Post in English and use good grammar.
Sorry, couldn't resist that one!
^A good example of what not to do, actually. My post, that is.
It was late and firefox says saying activitys was wrong and when I did activity's it said it was right, being morning I know it is "activities".
"Da Rulez"
2 seconds is far too long. People will forget in that long space of time. How's this?
