Sadly about a year and a half ago I was thinking about buying a buttkicker gamer 2, but decided to hold off until now. Now I want to buy one and they are back ordered everywhereeee.... Any suggestions on how to get my hands on one?? (besides looking on Craigslist or eBay)

Craigslist or eBay

They're sold out everywhere and won't be available again until March I heard

I haven't been able to find one either. Thankfully, I'm not in a rush to get it. I'll pick one up when they are readily available.

Get the buttkicker LFE if you can afford it, my buttkicker gamer 2 is okay but i wish it had more power sometimes. plus the LFE is in stock

They are like rocking horse poo.

They are never in stock. I was lucky when I bought mine a few years back, shortly after I bought one they just disappeared everywhere.

Maybe look at one of the other makes like Clark or Acura.

I purchased 2 a year ago or so, the first time I tried they were sold out. Then when they re-stocked I jumped at them. One behind the pedals and one under the seat, mix well with two Aura bass shakers and a 7.1 A/V receiver and 12" sub woofer. :)

I was looking for one or two myself, but soldout everywhere.
The ones which you can get on ebay are mostly ripoff, because people know that the buttkicker is sold out.
Here is the official statement from thebuttkicker

So this looks like they will be available by feb or march as thehawk said.
Personally I would go for a Simulation kit.
But if you search the forum there are also some good information, about creating your own setup, from experiencend simrig builders ;)

Do you use the 12"woofer for auditory bass or tactile?

Hopefully the letter is right and they can keep them in stock consistently from now on. I plan to pick up a Gamer 2 when back in stock. Do they take preorders and ship when available? Maybe I should place my order now so I receive it soon after they come in stock. I could look at LFE's or other shakers but right now I want to keep the whole package under or around $200. I also like the simplicity of everything I need coming in one package like the Gamer does, I have very limited electronics knowledge so the closer to plug and play the better for me.

That is definately the appeal of the gamer, simple to hook up, cheap, effective. is a great one to start with

I just ordered one not two hours after I got an email lol It is about time... : ) I can't wait to see it in action!!

Do you guys think it would be better to use an 80w amp, and 2x50w aura bass shakers, or a buttkicker. I already have the amp but man I've wanted a buttkicker for a while now.

It is basically the most affordable way to add a "seat of the pants" feel to your simulator. Anything above this and you're looking at multiple thousands of dollars. The two options that I've seen are aura bass shakers hooked up through an amp, and there is an excellent guide on how to set this up, or the buttkicker which is also an awesome option.

The only thing about the BK-GR2 is that it doesn't attach to playseats it's meant to attach to like an office chair, and the price is much higher than setting it up with the aura bass shakers so that's what I decided to go with ordering a pair of the aura bass shakers that I'll try out with an 80w amp until I get a 100w one.

I would get the buttkicker gamer 2 first, Aura bass shakers are not that expensive and can easily be added later.

In Europe you can find the Mini LFE and Mini Concert here:
Linky

I haven't seen any Buttkicker Gamer 2's in stock (by any UK/European dealer) for a long time. Bear in mind that you'll need a suitable amp for those two items above. :)

BK Gamer is a quick n easy purchase but really as it is entry level unit you get what you pay for. The Mini LFE Buttkicker is certainly a better performer than the Gamer model. I use 5 f them on my seat and what is great is that they only need a small footprint when installing.

Most of the people I know/helped would rate the Aura Pro as the best value/performance tactile unit for a cockpit. While other models can offer better performance/timing it is more noticable with music than say engine noises or when used on full frequency channels not the LFE. Doing a d.i.y solution will easily give better performance than a Gamer package but will cost a bit more and requires matching with a decent amplifier.

thanks Mr Latte, that is what I was looking for. Do you think it would work to have 2 aura bass shakers hooked up to an 80W amp?

If using a decent 4ohm unit, yes.
Run them in stereo installed each side of your seat.

Tactile can improve the Immersion this way just as "stereo" audio is better than mono. However later if incorporating an independent "sub" or "LFE" tactile unit it will also add to the experience.

With tactile the more control you have over the source the better so even consider a cheap 2nd hand EQ. Part of the pain with tactile is various games/sources needing different settings. An EQ gives much more control than a crossover varying quite a lot how the tactil unit responds/feels.

Hope the tips are some help

Yeah I heard 2 minimum was the way to go because when it's in stereo you can actually feel it more on whichever side the action is happening on, again I've never even sat in one but I've heard plenty of good things.

I'm pretty much planning to run it exclusively with Iracing. I use a laptop to play with a nice set of PS3 stereo wireless headset, so I don't think I"ll be going the route of installing a second sound card.
