Hi guys, I only just purchased GT6 a week ago but I can't find the Bathurst track anywhere. Can someone let me know where to find it ?

Also Every time I try to do the 1.20 update, it gets part way and the download stalls completely so I have to cancel it and retry, yet when I go into GT6 it does some update and tells me new cars are available, but the update is not finished. Anyone else had issues with the update stalling continuously ?

It appears numerous times throughout the career mode, but if you want to drive it in Arcade Mode, pick "World" (that's circuits that exist in the real world) and it's on the very first page - bottom row, fourth track along.

In online mode the tracks are listed by length. Mount Panorama is 3.86 miles long, so scroll down until you see that.

Several new cars were added in some of the updates between the on-disc version and the current one, so it's likely that you are installing some updates and seeing some of those cars.

Bear in mind that updates occur in three stages:
* Downloading from PSN (via XMB)
* Installing to the console (via XMB)
* Installing to the game (via game)

We don't know which of the three bits you're having trouble with, nor what your current game version is, as it sounds like some updates have been installed to the game.

However what I'd recommend is that you update the game in the XMB but only let it download and then install one update at a time. When that update has downloaded and installed, quit the update process and boot GT6 up but hit circle to avoid going back into the update process. The game will then install that specific update.

This may take you a while.

Thanks Famine, I will upload some pics shortly of the area the update stalls. I press TRIANGLE in the XMB and go to 'Check for Updates' in that menu, that is where the update stalls.

As far as Bathurst, I usually go into the garage and pick my care and go through 'Free Run'. I am guessing it is not available in that area ?

Yeah, don't bother with that. Just boot the game up and it'll prompt you or it won't.

If it does, only ever let the XMB download and then install (to your console) one update at a time before quitting. Then boot the game up, skip the prompt and let the game install it.

Same thing. Pick "World" and it's the fourth track along on the bottom row of the first page. Next to the two Goodwoods you can't use.

Hi again Famine. Here is where I start the update from the XMB

and this is where is fails. It usually gets about 50% or so done then completely stalls.

The number of updates started at 12. I guess I will have to try your method of doing one update at a time instead of letting it just download the whole thing.

Oh wow I am so blind......I literally spent an hour looking for Bathurst and went past it every time. Thanks for that

Yeah, you don't need to do that. Just start the game and it automatically detects whether there's an update required or not. I doubt it makes any difference, except it's one less button press!

The fact it says 1/6 and it's a 589MB download suggests it's v1.15 - so that confirms that a bunch of updates have already been installed, explaining why you keep seeing the new cars bits in the game itself.

Now... if the top bar reaches 50% and then it stalls, there may be a problem. That's the progress for that specific update. The bottom bar is the progress for all of the updates combined, and if it's that stalling at 50%, you can do the one-by-one update method.

What's your download speed like?

My download speed is fine and yes it's the top bar that stalls.

Before I go in it says that the update is 1.20 but yes as you say I think some updates are already installed. It started off as 12 updates and 1200mb as he size. The next time I went in it was 10 updates and 2100mb, then the next time 8 and 495mb, now it is 6 and 589mb.

Hmm. Know anyone who's got better bandwidth than you and is happy for you to take the PS3 round?

Also, are you connecting the console to the internet wirelessly or wired?

Yes, it'll tell you the most recent update it can find (which is v1.20 for now) but it will always tell you the size of the update it's currently installing.

The very first update - v1.01 - was 1.2GB. v1.10 was 2.1GB and so on.

I've got it directly connected to my router with a network cable. The internet works fine on all other parts of the system and all my other devices connected to the router through WiFi and the speed available to the PS3 is more than enough as I can sit and watch the update fly along until it stalls :boggled:

Yeah, that's weird then.

One piece of advice PD gave out early on - as there were some updates that would behave weirdly, like resetting the console - was to accept the update within 2 seconds. So boot the game up, it says the latest update was found (v1.20) and you mash the button within 2s of that message.
