The difference between drifting online and off is huge, cars i use online i cannot use in practice and vice versa. So what should i focus on ? where do people record videos of drifting and where are tournaments held ? online i suppose

I dont know why they made it so different

You guessed correctly

so what do all yo drifters do have different cars for off line and online ? grr its so stupid they made it different. So you have to learn twice kind of.

No, if you want to drift offline its best to go into practice and choose time attack instead of the drift. It will give you an annoying ghost if you drift bumpercam, but with other views you could try and tandem with your ghost.

make sure the cars you use for practice are in your favorites and then you will be able to use them online.

best tip i can give before going online though is, start an a-spec free run in practice so you can get a ghost car drifting with you, as funny as this sounds, it will help you drift close to other cars without hitting them. drift as close to the ghost car as you can without hitting it.

dumb tip i know but its helped me reduce slamming into other players online. now when i get hit, its mostly their fault lol

so you use same car/setup online and off line ? its so different i have to alter the set up, normally online i reduce the bhp

Easy, don't bother drifting offline ;)

Yes the physics are different online from offline, so the best way to be good and consistant is to stick to one or the other. :) Online being the preference. :)

Keeping two copies of the same car with identical tune, but one with lower Hp for online usage works well. Otherwise I use Comfort Soft tires online for the same car I use with Comfort Hard tires in practice mode. The car still feels different but close. The advantage in using Comfort Hard tires online is that the car feels less twitchy and you spend less time on the pits replacing worn out tires.

I don't bother tuning cars in the practice area. I go to my own lounge and do it there, that way I know that the online physics will be used while I tune. It is a little more of a time waster cause you need to wait to drive out of the pits after you make an adjustment but at least you know it's good to go for online drift rooms. Although there isn't a ghost in the lounge so in order to do that you need to go into the practice area.

Understandable that most people are saying just drift online.. there is a huge difference(Wheb using a wheel mainly) but can only slighlty be felt with a controller!. i can only slightly feel this myself but i've never thought wow its unbelieveabl!.

For those who dont see a difference offline the car is much sharper than online. it reacts better and is alot easier to drift! or atleast i find this anyway

Offline the car feels alot more stable compared to unline where the car feels really slippery and more snapback if you ask me.

I myself prefer offline, time attack drifting to online, down to the difference in physics. :/

The difference between offline and online physics could be that many online servers have the skid recovery force turned on. When I drift online, I search for servers without skid recovery force and the car seems to handle the same as offline. This could be the difference. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to work for me.

For Online turn off all aids and tandeming with others will make u better. Drifting solo is not so fun in my opinion, anyway my lobby is almost up every night its call "EvergreenDrift" see you online
