I've lately been looking at drum tabs and stuff for my favorite songs, and I wanted to put them all together in a program that lets me put down the beats and notes where-ever I want. I do have MAGIX Music Maker 7, but it keeps getting locked up and I'm sick of it. IF someone could tell me how to fix that it would be a good substitute. I just want to write my own song but I don't have the skill to play the drums or guitar at a perfect rhythm or record them.

If you are looking to write your own score then MusEdit is for you.

If you are looking to record what you play...I'm less informed in that arena.
You might consider getting one of the 4-track recorders designed for recording music.
The Korg Pandora PXR4 being a fair choice.
It ain't free, but you do get what you pay for.
Plus, Korg makes all manner of Processors: Drum, Guitar, Keyboard, etc.

I just found something that's pretty good. Finale Notepad (or any other version of Finale). So if anyone else needs something to make or write down their songs, use that.

People say Notepad isn't the best quality, but it's really good if you need something free.

Yeah, I know, but that's not creating music. That's recording and layering music you are creating from an instrument, and not with the program.
