So my recent Thread about whats busted with GT5 was closed, because it apparently already exists. I love how something thats been discussed before can be considered off limits for current discussion on GTP. Meanwhile, the site is littered with car wish lists. Go figure. maybe if you keep the site troll/dissenting opinion free. KY will honor your service with a Special GTP edition DLC Car pack some day.
Free Speech is good. One sided marketing tools suck.
I specifically prefaced my post for a mod if it was in the wrong spot or existed somewhere else, but instead of moving or offering assistance on where the supposed discussion already exists, i got a closed thread, and thats all. No help or direction.
I am not a Forza troll or anything, just a guy who hopes the actual problems of this game can be discussed here. Problems besides your favorite standard got snubbed.
Mr Mod? School me up here on how to be a good GTP citizen here.

If it already exists, it is locked. As you know. The wishlist thing is a little different as those are targeted at different aspects of the game. Such as car, track, and DLC cars. Similar to just cars but oh well. Stuff is weird. That is just how things work 'round here.

Some of the mods seem to be jaded, cynical and reactionary, IMHO. Or maybe even a little bit to precious. The amount of "this isn't the thread" or "somebody already said that" is getting a little offputting.

No. I did not know that all threads that discussed GT in a negative light got closed. Good to know. makes more sense now. They should just list that policy on the top of the site if it's true.

It's always been lame. I have been tip toeing around for a while waiting for something like this. The lack of respect for opinions not held by the mods is alarming some times. Especially if there negative. I have seen threads where people are allowed to write their own fictional stories for crying out loud. Yet threads with negative feedback are closed for no reason. I feel like if they could Matrix my mouth shut, they would. LOL

They don't close all threads that paint GT 5 negatively, just the redundant ones. They closed it for a reason you stated, so you can contribute your thoughts to one of the existing related threads if you like.

And elitedreamer didn't say all negative threads get closed, he said the same that I did, redundant threads get close, keep the conversation in one spot to make the site more organized and easier for people to find info.👍

Don't take this the wrong way but I'm going to report this thread. It's in the wrong spot, should be moved to the help desk.

Seriously though, don't see anything about negative feedback not being allowed there. Guess it's just something that happens anyway.
You are avoiding the fact that a thread already exists for you to add you thoughts to. Contribute there, have a discussion, everybody is happy. The mods do a great job keeping this site organized and allowing discussion, we don't need to make there job harder on them for no reason.

"Just the redundant ones" You mean the ones that still aren't fixed. Yeah, we should probably just stop talking about them. Close the threads that contain them. PD will listen to us then? "Give us our favorite standards now and that track from GT4". That's all I hear hear. redundant?

No, I'm not talking about issues with GT5, I'm talking about threads already exist to discuss those issues. Hence the lack of need for you to create another thread and fracturing the discussion. But I think you know what I mean and just feel like avoiding the facts and starting a fight. I'll let the mods handle it from here.

We don't have any issues with people having a negative opinion on a game. There are clearly defined threads dedicated to complaints etc and we simply ask that you discuss these issues in the appropriate thread.

I asked the mod specifically to move my post or point me in the right direction.
Not sure what else to do........and Elite dreamer already said that such threads would already be closed when I get there, so whats my motivation to search for one on my own? Negative feedback is not allowed?

Take a look through the first 20 or so pages and you're likely to find a lot of complaining threads and other similar-to-each-other ones.

A quick search is all it takes.

I seriously don't know where they are chief. That is all. no one is pointing me towards them either.

I made an effort for the first two pages, did not find what I was looking for. maybe they should sticky one of those threads to the top of page one. :)
And leave it open for discussion.. :)

^^ There's your answer.

And you might want to learn how to use the "Edit" button as well.

Almost every topic has been discussed for gt5... so thats mean no more new threads till a new idea is brought about!!! Ok everyone agree! This will never happen and a forum will die if new threads are not created. Even duplicates.

It probably depends on the search words you use as to what shows up.

Except that large portions of the Forum are not GT based and that seasonal events come out once per week, as well as Kaz hinting at regular DLC updates

Ok so in the GT section only new topics about the seasonals and Kaz should be created, because all else has pretty much been discussed, NO! Im just saying and not fighting

Just because new threads wouldn't be created it won't stop people posting in the existing threads. The activity level of the forum would stay exactly the same.

To answer the OP with the standard "Why was my thread locked" GTP answer. Your thread has been done to death, use the search button (In the yellow box, top right) and post in the largest existing thread.

Yeah. I got to 6 pages deep and I saw a good thread about the menu system, I went ahead and posted there, but it's old and I doubt any one is still checking it out. Will I Am is right. Everything there is a repeat of some kind. They really aren't any new takes on this game. My thought for my thread was an all encompassing list of what is broke or in need of repair that could be discussed in the comments and edited as necassarry to reflect the opinions of those in the thread. But it seems like they're as open to creativity here at GTP as they are at PD. More or less. negative feedback is relagated to past topics/non current event status and new threads are closed citing that its been mentioned before. Seems like censorship to me.

When you post in an old thread, it bumps it back to the top. If nobody posts in it after that, well then they just don't care.

One last question for a mod please? I don't understand how your supposed to have an ongoing discussion on a topic of any kind if it is not allowed to be discussed in a new "AKA" CURRENT thread. If the object is to keep these thread consolidated, yet alive, why not sticky them to the front page to eliminate making people feel like they are being censored. Call it "The Whiners forum" or whatever you want, just allow people to have their opinion somewhere.

Free Speech is good. One sided marketing tools suck.
We completely agree. However, a 10 second search of prior GT5 threads reveals:

GT5 2.0 Disappointment Thread

Seriously considering getting rid of of GT5

GT5 major disappointment in Tuning

All within the last month, alone.

And by discussed you mean:

iridegravity
Like Jeremy Clarkson, I am right and you are wrong and thats an end of it.

and

iridegravity
You can argue with me, but your wrong....

So not a Forza troll, just a regular one.

Avoid posting inflamatory threads with one sided views would be a start. Using the search function and posting your opinions in the appropriate existing thread would be another.

The forums are organised by latest post, when the thread was started is irrelevant (We have continuing threads that are over 5 years old and they are still as current as if someone started a new one today). You don't need a new thread to have a current discussion, the whole point of keep the discussion to a single thread is so that it's easier to follow.

A mod has already replied to your question but you decided to ignore it.

Use the seach function, there are hundreds of complaint threads out there. We don't need another one, especially one that ends with "
You can argue with me, but your wrong". Way to open a discussion.
