Yo. I am going to participate in a contest in GT4, and the following cars I can choose from are (All in arcade versus mode, so I don't know if all of this applies):

Jaguar XJR-9 Race Car
Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car
Minolta Toyota 88C-V Race Car
Mazda 787B Race Car
Nissan R92CP Race Car
Peugeot 905 Race Car
AMG Mercedes CLK - GTR Race Car
BMW V12 LMR Race Car
Toyota GT-ONE Race Car
Audi R8 Race Car
Pescarolo Courage C60 Race Car
Bentley Speed 8 Race Car
Playstation Pescarolo C60 Race Car

Now, out of the lot, which car deserves the most attention? I don't really see a Toyota GT-ONE out speeding a Mazda 787B (no modifications are allowed, the cars are as you get them).

The courses are:

Fuji Speedway 2005 – 10 laps
Circut de la Sarthe 2 – 6 laps
Suzuka circuit – 8 laps
El Capitan – 10 laps

Hard racing tyres, no boost and no driving aids.

I want to foucus on 2-3 cars that would be best for those 4 circuits. I know it sounds strange, as almost all cars on that list are equally fast.
However, as I mentioned, A Toyota GT-ONE won't out-run a Mazda 787B unless it has a good driver.

Any suggestion on a certain strategy?

Nissan R92CP Race Car ...personal fav lemans style racer

Nissan R92CP Race Car fast and easy on tires

Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car fast fast fast

I think the Minolta is the best performance-wise.

Jaguar XJR-9 Race Car- Not very well balanced, poor turning
Sauber Mercedes C9 Race Car-Very well balanced handling, decent tire wear
Minolta Toyota 88C-V Race Car-Extremely fast, poor tire wear
Mazda 787B Race Car-Good all around, not in the same league as big boys
Nissan R92CP Race Car-Great handling, fast, poor tire wear
Peugeot 905 Race Car-??
AMG Mercedes CLK - GTR Race Car-??
BMW V12 LMR Race Car??
Toyota GT-ONE Race Car-Good Handling, very fast, good tire wear
Audi R8 Race Car??
Pescarolo Courage C60 Race Car-Average handling, and acceleration
Bentley Speed 8 Race Car-Good handling, average acceleration, awesome tire wear
Playstation Pescarolo C60 Race Car-about same as other Pesky

If it were my pick, I'd go with the Sauber C9. It is one of the fastest cars in the game, a joy to drive and good overall tire wear.

One big question though. How many laps, where are you racing, is tire wear enabled?

Peugot 905 for the money, this thing rocks... much better then the Vertigo, which goes for the same amount, but sucks big time in this GT for some reason...

Sauber and Audi are basicaly identical as far as driving goes... these both rock...

Both Nissans are also very VERY good...

The Minolta is insane, bit it does eat tires quite fast unless you can get a good tune for it... but still a great car none the less

Of the Peskys, I like the org one more then the PS version... it realy doesn't need any more ponys... and I find the org has better handeling...

Bentley and the r8 are the same car just different chasis, i love the r8 its faster than the minolta stock and handles better.

I like the mazda 727B which i think has good tyre wear but i havent drove the bently yet.

Does anyone else also think the Jaguar XJR-9 Race Car is an ugly car. Not the road car though 👍

Sauber C9 and the Minolta.
Definatly both huge contenders. 👍

Audi R8 or Bentley 8.

The Minolta and the 92 may have the edge in power (and chewing up tires) but the Audi and Bent more than make up for it in the handling dept.

I seriously doubt that either the Minolta or 92 or even the Sauber could last at any of those tracks on R2s without pitting, especially with aids off. But, I *think* the R8 or Bentley or 787B can make it... maybe. Not Sarthe of course, but it might make it through the rest. Worth testing 💡

The Sauber will give you a slight edge performance wise, but I would suggest trying out each car and seeing which one you can run laps the fastest in. Just pick your best and then practice in it a lot!

Well, IRL, the R8s are the ones that keep winning lemans. Just a thought. And yes, the bentley is in the same ball park as the R8--has a little different feel, but competitive.

Thanks for the feedback. I will go with the Sauber, R92 and I think the R8...
There is no tyre wear, so it really isn't an issue. Nevertheless, I think I'll go practice for the contest!

Btw, it is Israel championship, and the winner will be in the Electronic Sports World Cup in France.

No tire wear, o.k. That really narrows it down. The fastest car in the game IMO is the Minolta. The AI carry the most speed in it as well. The R92 and Sauber are a close second. With the R92 being a little tougher to control, having a little more oversteer as does the Minolta. The Audi is said to be fast but I haven't driven it yet.
I'd skip the R8 and practice with the Minolta, Sauber, R92 to see which fits your driving style the best.

Don't skip the R8 it's a quality piece of kit - it's not as fast as the Minolta or the Sauber, but it's much better suited to tighter tracks (El Capitan in particular, the Minolta and Sauber will be all over the place but the R8 is rock steady)

If you ask me, the best 2 are the R8 (though the Bentley is very close) and the Sauber (fractionally slower, but more stable at high speed than the Minolta)

...There is no tyre wear...

If tire wear was on , the Pescarolos would have a huge advantage. With tire wear off, it's a whole different ball game. The big drawback of the unrealistically-fast Minolta Toyota is its tire wear, which is now a non-issue. With stock HP its minor stability problems should be minimized as well.

I would go with the 88C-V and, as 66 said, the Audi R8 if stability is an issue on El Capitan.
