Okay, so in my CADD IV (Computer Aided Drafting & Design) class at school, my teacher gave my friend and I an assignment for the second, and last, semester of our senior year. That assignment is to draw a side profile view of any car of our choice. We do extensive research on the car to find every dimension and then essentially copy in into either Autodesk AutoCAD or Inventor (I'm not sure which program we're going to use).
I have decided that I am going to pick a car out of GT5, I just need to narrow it down to one.

What car would you suggest for me? 👍
And maybe an easier car for my friend because he doesn't know squat about anything with wheels.

The Cadillac CIEN. Straight Edges. No Curves. Should be easy. =)

Aw. I was hoping we'd do this in AutoCAD, but it sucked, and we didn't.

Try using your favorite car in GT5.
458 Italia ;)

Shouldn't you be deciding about this on your own instead of relying on people to choose for you? Anyways...

For your friend, a Scion xB: It's a box on wheels. If you want an A, go for something that is genuinely beautiful on the outside with curves(aka a Mazda Furai). Don't draw something like a Veyron because, compared to the Furai, it looks like crap, no offense. You can also draw a Formula 1 car. That would be a challenge and they all look sexy as **** and would take you a good couple of weeks to finish if you pay attention to detail.

An F1 car would be massively impressive.

How about the x1

Why couldn't I have had a class like that :grumpy: sounds awesome!

The ferrari F10 would be my pick of the F1 cars on the game, it would really be a challenge

But I would choose the Ford mark IV, a good mix of straight lines and curves. But then it might be a bit simple.
You could always go for something a little more complex but not as difficult as an F1 car, as suggested above the furai would be good. Or maybe a le mans car, Peugeot 905 springs to mind

Usually I would just choose your favorite car. But if you want something simple you can choose some sports cars or Race cars.

I guess a diminitive, round car would be of your most desired one rather than those with lots of rocky design(plenty of angles)on the body... However, this is not the occasion in which you can rely on someone to help you pick up a car of your choice, you better choose one yourself.

Tank car! Or well... Lucky kid!

Perhaps the teacher will be amazed to see the profile view of the Tank car distractedly exclaiming "Is there such an oddly-shaped car with extremely long bumper, big engine and large wheels on the chassis?!".

For you,the best side profile IMO would be the Lamborghini Miura.
And also one of the most beautiful cars ever designed.
I mean,just look at it...

And for your friend, something a little simpler to draw would be the Dome Zero concept, with straight lines and sharp edes.

You could do that 70's VW golf polo, box with a rectangle in front.

I'm sorry, but the title is a bit suggestive. How do you "do" a car? ;)

Architects it using AutoCAD (Computer Auded Drafting)

:)

I'm sorry, how does this have anything to do with GT5?
You're not going to be taking the dimensions from a GT5 car, it's going to have be a real car.
Anyways that's just my opinion, but I always want to help, soo:

I think you probably will be using AutoCAD..

Pick something easy, you're not going to get marks off for doing an easy car right, so you might as well make it quick and easy for you and your friend.

Also pick a car which has easily obtainable dimensions of all the body parts. You're not just going to be planning the outer edge of the car - position of door, windows, details will be important if you're going to be technically accurate. Otherwise you might as well not use dimensions!

If it was my choice I'd pick the Audi TT, good shape, however the shape will be hard to map out. Or the McLaren F1.

For an easy shape and also easily recognisable one go for a VW Golf Mark 1 or Beetle.

Well if you want something different try a Zonda R! But for your friend, may I recommend a Nissan Bluebird which is a rectangle on top of a bigger rectangle lol

I modeled a Lamborghini Murcielago a year ago. Here's a tip: Do not model your favorite car. You will admire the car much less when you complete it.

If anyone has any questions about Rhino or AutoCAD, just ask me.

I'd be going after the Citroen Race car. There's a whole lot to it to make for a very interesting and detailed profile. Pure sex on wheels this one. Well, to me anyhow.:sly:
