After the rapid success of Gran Turismo 2 Time Attack and after lots of demands of competitors, the Gran Turismo 2 Time Attack Challenge Will Continue!

This time, we'll be on the Season 2, which will be the new era for GT2 Time Attack, meaning, the Season 2 will be only up to a category Style.

Please beware that you may vote only on one Option. The category which has the most votes will be used for the Season 2.

Tough decision between Touring Cars, JGTC & LMGT. Decided on LMGT.

Also, will Race Modded cars be allowed alongside the proper race cars? And if so, will there be power/weight restrcictions on them?

Voted Rally. Lots of choices in terms of cars, and Race Modded cars aren't too underpowered compared to LMGT and others. However, Rally without the Escudo and Cultus would be appreciated. Too OP x). The Dahiatsu Storia/Sirion and Toyota Celica (ZZT231) rally cars are a little OP too... but to a lesser degree.

I voted for One make series. There are some good cars that are particularly interesting for such competition (Clio V6, Beetle, Micra, MX-5, etc.) Each of us gets the same car, each of us has the same chance of winning.

By using such fairly balanced system from the very start, it becomes easier to penalize faster drivers with additional seconds after seeing how fast each of us really is.

That's one vote for LMGT, Decade's and One Make Series.

Now MadMax just has to vote. However, if MadMax doesn't vote during this week, then the theme for Round 2 will be about rally.

I've voted.
That's two votes for LMGT and Rally.

This means that we will have to make a Round 2 of Voting. But this time you may vote for LMGT or Rally Class. One of these two categories which has the most votes will be the theme for the Season 2.

Compromise: Do a rally category with GT cars that are one-make! :D
It would not be a bad idea, but I was planning to go with 4 classes for whole round.

Should we use the race modded cars? Or only the rally cars which are on the game?

In this case, Ford Ka [R], [R] Fiat Cinquecento Abarth and the [R] Toyota Starlet Turbo S '87 would be the planned cars for the One Make Cups.

I think only RM's that are of real rally cars (or whatever category is selected), like the Stratos

Stratos is hard to attain...I got it though :D

So maybe a rally category with one-make cars...? :P Cars that have rally racing modification.

Well, the difference is that in the Arcade mode, we have access to the rare rally cars such as Peugeot 306 Rally Car, Lancia Stratos Rally Car, Volkswagen Golf Rally Car and the Mazda Familia GT-R Rally Car.

Because the Balance of the Performance is hard in this game, then we will have to set a restriction of HP for each class.

A5- Toyota Starlet Turbo S '87 (110 BHP), Ford Ka (75 bhp), Fiat Cinquecento Abarth '98 (90 BHP). Racing Modification Required.

A8- Lancia Delta HF Integrale, Lancer Evo's, Mazda 323 GT-R '92 & Subaru Impreza WRX's are allowed. 315 BHP maximum and 1230 kg Minimum. Racing Modification required.

Gr. 2/2- A One Make with Mini Cooper 1275 Mk I. Tuning Prohibited.

Gr. 4/4- Lancia Stratos Rally Car, tuning prohibited. Driveable in Arcade Mode.

Open- Any car outside of classes are allowed. Tires & Tuning unrestricted.

WRC20- WRC cars such as Peugeot 206 Rally Car and the Ford Escort Rally Car. 300 BHP Maximum.

Yes, most likely.

WRC20- WRC cars such as Peugeot 206 Rally Car and the Ford Escort Rally Car. 300 BHP Maximum.

Theoreticaly 300bhp maximum... 'cause in GT2, WRC cars (and any non-RM Rally Cars) range from 390-480hp.
Same for GT300 JGTC Cars, and for GT500 being 700hp instead of 500... etc etc lawl.

If you put power upgrades, then they will obviously exceed the 300 BHP power range. However, if they are bought stock, they should meet the 300 BHP regulations.

Nope. GT2 doesn't work that way. Basicaly, think from GT3 onwards where you can buy Turbo level 4 or so on a lot of race cars, and do that automatically. That gives you GT2.
In the manufacturers they're 300hp, but once bought they become 400+hp.

Really? I will check that tommorrow.

Sorry for double post.

I just checked on the Corolla Rally Car. It comes with 294 BHP in dealership, but when bought, it comes with 420 BHP in the garage. :/

Thanks for letting me know about this issue, @submaniac93 !

No prob'. I think we can still make use of them, but any RM Rally cars will have to be tuned to ~420-440 hp. It's just GT2 being GT2 =P

A few power outputs: Impreza WRC 99 is 476hp, Rally Edition '97 is 404hp, Corolla '97 (bonus car) is 397-399hp, Lancer Evo 5 WRC is 428, Celica Rally Car (ZZT231) is 530-540hp...
So yeah, it varies, but in tracks such as Thaiti Maze, power's not the biggest thing. So we'll probably be able to work it out.

It might be unrealistic for A8 and for WRC classes, as they have around 300-320 BHP, but it's the only way to maintatin the A8 and the WRC spirit.

Anyways, for not having problems, then the restrictions are updated:

A8- 420 BHP
WRC- 490 BHP

The A5 and Open Classes remain as it is.

We need to figure out the car selection before the Season 2 starts, so there won't be any disorganization.

@Harsk100

I'll make a list of cars I think should be able to enter each category, then i'll post it here for you all to review and approve/disapprove. Be back in... at least 10 minutes xD

It'll also double as a list of Rally inspired cars. Well, in my opinion, of course. There are some cars which I probably won't list because I think they're closer to touring cars than rally... like the Lexus/Toyota Altezza, or the Dodge Neons.

EDIT: Here's the list I made for the Rally category. I'm not well versed in car categories, but I don't think i'm wrong on most of them.

Cars with a " ? " after them are up to debate whether they count or not.
