Which Corvette to Race Mod? Should I B-SPEC?

Good Day All,

I am on my third play through of GT5and with each new play, I try and buy fewer cars and upgrade them only enough to win the races I need to so that I can have more money and better cars at the end. I always felt that I was racing to get enough money for the cars I wanted and this time I want to always have millions in the bank.

Last play through I made the HUGE mistake of dropping a ton of money on my Veyron, and in the end my RM'ed 'Vette kicked it's butt all over the place. I ended up using it on all of the later races I could and did really well. The problem is that I can't remember which 'vette it was that I upgraded. Is the additional $90k worth it for the Z1, or is the RM'ed Z06 enough?

Lastly, I HATE B-SPEC, but should I go through the hours of boredom for the cars? Have you guys found that you get much more from B-SPEC that I just can't buy from racing A-SPEC?

If you've already gotten the b-spec trophies on either of your previous play throughs, then I don't see a reason to play it again. I only have to make time to run the b-spec 24 Nurburgring and I'll never play it again.

Personally, I like the Z06 RM better than the ZR1. I have both, and I have 2 Z06 RM versions with different setups for different types of races.

Thanks for your response. This brings up another question I have. I haven't yet figured out how to restart a game without deleting the save data from previous games so when I start over I REALLY start over.

Is there a way to keep trophies and cars from previous playthroughs?

Trophies do stay (they're tied to your PSN account) but cars won't.

If you're trying to replay through with buying fewer and fewer cars, then I can't see why you wouldn't go for the thirty-six free cars (counting the Level tickets) you'd get from B-Spec, some of which are the best cars in the game if you ask me - not to count all the credits it provides.

I don't know if bypassing B-Spec and just buying these cars through the credits earned in A-Spec is "faster", but when you consider that you're easily looking at tens of millions of credits in cars, even if you just ran B-Spec as an afterthought (i.e. while you're sleeping, at work/school, and so on) it's a great way to stuck your garage on a miserly budget!

Strngz, You make a good argument. I need to just set the B Driver with good cars and just let him go and rack up points. My problem is that I actually play it and when he loses, I see it as a complete waste of time when I could have been racing myelf. I could use the money and cars though.

The zr-1 vette RM is a killer car.

IMO b-spec is a big help to getting the 1k cars trophy.

Yeah, that's big my big "secret" to plowing through B-Spec:
Put my driver in the best possible - sometimes ridiculously dominant - car so they can win.

(At least you still get some credits and the Bob(s) get some experience when they don't win the race.)

I totally get how B-Spec is a bit of a "waste", compared to doing the driving yourself. With the Seasonal Events (at least when online features actually work) there's ample cash to be had from driving, although it gets pretty boring real quick running the RM Cappuccino or another Kei-car around the same little kart track over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Oh, RM either Vette, you can't go wrong as far as value/usage either way. Either is powerful enough to take on most anything the game has to offer.
The ZR-1 is obviously more powerful than the Z06, but it's over 100,000 credits more to buy the car and RM it. I'm fairly certain that for less than the ZR-1 plus the RM, you can by a Z06, RM and tune it, and it will match or beat the ZR-1...
