I finally got world championship pro league, I don't know what car to choose between those:

Ford GT40 Race Car
Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car
Opel Calibra Touring Car
Jaguar XJ220 Race Car

Which one is the best? what would you choose between those?

I'd choose the Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car .

Awesome.
2nd choice would be the GT40.

Well, the R390 is probably the best car of the four. The race version, at least is one of the best cars in the game, I think. If you don't know, there are three real life Le Mans cars in the game--the R390, GT-one and 787B--you'll want at least one of them.

I think the road car is close, except for the decals (of course) and various other race upgrades, like the very important full racing transmission. You can add that, though. If this was the race car, I'd say it's a no-brainer and go for the 390. But, if you plan on getting the race car later (and I would), you might want to look at the others. I'd consider the GT40 just for both nostalgia, and my thinking it's a pretty cool car.

I haven't spent too much time with the Jaguar or Opel, so someone else would probably be better suited to comment on those two.

Definitely the GT40. The R390's road version isn't worth the trouble, just wait out for the race version. G'luck!

I'd go with the GT40 or XJ220 race car,the R390 road car is obviously nowhere near as good as the race version and shouldn't be confused with it.Don't know much about the Calibra but i can't see it being anywhere near as good as the GT40 or XJ220.

First time I raced that series, I won the Opel Touring Car. It is a nice handling car IMO.

I raced it a second time to get the GT40..... :cheeburga You should know me by now 😈

Sertsa, do you realize that the GT40 was also a Le Mans car in the 60's?? Different versions were made, but for a 4 year span, Ford made their presence overwhelmingly known in the Le Mans circuit....

Thank you Ford for a great nostalgic car!! Thanks again for going to production with the GT40 concept from Detroit!!!!!! :fdevil:  :fdevil:

captainkirk: D'oh. Yes, I know the GT40 was a Le Mans car, one that Carroll Shelby helped refine (and continue his Ferrari smoking). I guess I had a mental lapse, or something. I was mostly thinking that those other three Le Mans cars are kind of in their own class, though. Should have been clearer; thanks for the correction.

Hey, has Ford definitely decided to produce the GT40? Any price ranges set? I'm guessing it'd probably be in the 85K-100K range.

Umm, Ford has not set a price on the GT40 yet, but original talks were about $100,000. I wish it was lower though, I am not made of money :2cents:

That's not too bad though considering it's background. (Errr...)

Just saying that the GT40 has left a legacy (is that right? -yes bi-atch!) so to raise exclusivity on the new model would be to make it only afforable for the elite. Which 100k isn't.

If I had the money, I would like to build an old style GT40 anyway. The 289's and 302's in those cars would still be nice. Don't forget that they are pretty lightweight anyway, so that power would be sufficient for me. Of course that car wouldn't cost near as much as $100,000..... if you know what you're doing :cheeburga

Get the R390, dont mess with the settings tho, it drives fine. I would leave it stock b/c u can race it in the poloyphony race later on (normal cars only)

From personal experience, I would say to get the GT40. The R390 doesn't suffice IMHO, because I have found the road cars much less useful than their race-car counterparts. I have raced the Opel, and it's not particularly fast or good-handling, so that's out of the window. And, the Jag isn't very good... in fact, that happens to be the car that I won from that race, and I sold it within a couple weeks. I just couldn't get it to compete with other cars in its category (it's not much better than the Road Car, which is actually sweet for its category!)
