Hello All,

I'm new to GT5 and am struggling with the large amount wheel turning rotation needed with my DFGT Wheel. Adjusting the steering sensitivity has helped a little but not enough to my liking. Which PS3 wheels require the least rotation input or have a "degrees of rotation" adjustment feature? Thanks in advance for any info on the subject!

Just buy a Fanatec wheel, it is the only wheel that allows adjustment when it comes to this via the menu on the wheel.

You can't change the rotation in GT5, you can on PC though. The driving force EX I think only uses 200 degrees rotation, or you can try the driving force pro, the one before yours, as you can manually change on the wheel the rotation from 900 to 200 or something..but these two wheels are cheaper and so have less quality. You might struggle to find the driving force pro these days too.

I thought you could change the DFGT though...

Do you have to change it with a computer and then it will be say, 90 degree on PS3?

No the DFGT has 900 degree steering all the time. I own it.

Thanks, I Just checked online and see that used DFP's sell in the US for $50-$75US, so it looks like they are available.

I have seen this style threads many times and 95% time people will learn to love 900 degree steering angle after practice. GT5 adjust steering ratio automatically for each car type; you do not have to use more than 360 degrees in F1 cars etc, but there is no mechanical lock.

As said, the older DFP had a manual lock for 200 degree mode, but they otherwise isn't really particularly different from the DFGT.

If you change it on the PC it will only act that way you changed it on PC, so you will always have 900 degrees.

As of yet, on GT5 there is no way to change the steering rotation of the DFGT unfortunately, not to mention any of the logitech wheels.

Except for the logitech driving force pro. It can be changed from 900 to 200 degrees with a couple button pushes.

Thanks. I'll definitley check out Fanatec's wheels. For those that have one, do you find that the rotation adjustment is a really a good feature that you use and change alot?

I heard it made things harder for some people, because GT5 is a game that was really made for 900 degrees I think.

OK, cool. I'll definitely test the F1 cars to get a feel for how GT5 makes them different from.....say....road and touring cars. Cheers!

I just bought an old used DFP for cheap on ebay and look forward to testing it out to see how a 200 degree wheel feels in GT5. Someone posted a time on the leaderboards in GT Academy this week with a "200 degree rotational wheel" and that's what got me thinking about giving one a go. I'll keep you posted. Thanks!

Nice one, will be good to see how it goes...good thing with the DFP is that if you dont like the 200 degree rotation, you can change it back to 900.

In all honesty just practice a little with it. If you get a 200 degree wheel it will be super twitchy and much harder to drive with it then a 900 degree wheel. I can't think of any games that needed me to turn the wheel from lock to lock to turn on a 900 degree wheel. It sounds like your just over steering alot if your having trouble with the 900 degrees, that is unless your just trying to drift all the time.

I think I prefer 200 degrees to 900 too, I use 240-300 on PC racing sims and when I go back to GT5, 900 is just too much. It's crazy that there isn't a software steering limit, really.

That's why I prefer less rotation, I just cannot drift for the life of me on GT5 any more so it's annoying to have to use the DS3 when I want to gold the seasonals. I'm sure I'm probably supposed to be practicing, but I'm too lazy and/or busy to do that. Also my driving style (heavy right foot) sometimes means I need to be quick with the countersteer, particularly when driving the AE86 Club rFactor mod on the touge and hillclimb courses I play on.

Actually come to think of it, when I don't have to countersteer 900 degrees is fine for GT5, you're right.
