Which S2000 should I get?

Ok, I'm looking for a decent car that I'll be able drift against my friends in arcade and won't lose miserably to against, unlike my current drifting car, a 1990 RX-7 FC that I can't even use to beat the computer at level -2 (yes, NEGATIVE 2) difficulty on the Family cups. It's not really meant for competitive racing...

So I need a drifter that IS. Something that I can at least race in that FR series in beginner events XD

I'm thinking of getting some kind of S2000... which one do you recommend? There's...

Amuse: S2000 R1 '04, the orange and black one...
-------- S2000 GT1 '04, the white one...
-------- and the *Gasp* Carbon R.... I really have my eye on this one... is it any good? I'm not even sure if it's an S2000, but whatever, I like it

Spoon: S2000 RC '00, funny looking one, blue and yellow...

Mugen: S2000 '00, um, red and black one.

Which one's the best overall for competitive drifting against skilled players or very difficult AI? Right now I'm looking at the Carbon R... but are there better ones that'll win you more races?

The Carbon R is a Skyline.

Not that that helps with your desicsion or anything

I think that the CarbonR is a pretty good drifter, Mine's fully tuned and drifts great on Super Soft tyres, but in 2-Player you have to use street tyres, which is fine in most cases but this car is just too much for those. I'd say you should get something that is a little less powerful, I mean, seing as you didn't recognise the CarbonR as an R34 GT-R and all.

The GT-1 and LM are the absolute fastest, but for drifting I would suggest the S2000 R1, S2000 LM or Spoon S2000. The Spoon has more power up high and revs more, but the R1 has (ever so slightly) better balance because of it's downforce. The LM has the most power and revs, but it's fairly windless down low, and not everyone likes it's twitchy nature.
The Mugen is useless, because it is just overpriced and not even as good as the stock S2000. Avoid the Spoon S2000 race car like the plague, because it only has 250 BHP. It's rated for 300, and it is always rated for that even after you buy it, but a glitch in the game prevents it from revving past 9000 RPM, which is bad because it's peak power is at 11,000 RPM.

the spoon s2000 is made for grip racing more so than drifting, so i'd vote for the mugen. i own both, and i find drifting much more satisfying and natural in the mugen than the spoon.

Personally I use the Amuse Street s2000. No modification, n1 tires and a couple of tweaks on it's sports(stock) suspension, and it's very good.

^^^ Alright, FC3Sleepah, then why don't you try a little experiment of your own... get the same FC, supe it up a LITTLE (max you can have is turbo 1.. which is what I have it at), and try doing the FR series in Beginner Events.

Try drifting to win THAT.

I'm sorry... the rest of the cars will still beat you out of pure speed along the straightaways and corners. Too bad. -__-

Well, many of you guys will find me strange about this one,but i kinda find S2000 to balanced to drift,i can drift with it,but i'm not feeling the drift as in many other cars! The Stock FD RX7 '95 is good for drifting IMHO!

At negative two, it's easy as hell. I'll try that, even though I already won that race. I'll get back to you with my results. You also aren't taking into account the difference in our experience. I've been drifting GT3/4 on and off for close to 4 years now.

Opera S2000 or Spoon S2000, the Opera can be won at Polyphony Digital Cup.
