Nascar at the 'Ring...the lead car gets such a head start, and throwing those heavy cars around is pretty tricky, especially with the DS3. I still haven't won that.

Yes that...before they dropped all limitations

Also the RX7 at tsukuba.

With the new rules they've become another a-spec joke.

soften the rear suspension up and max downforce..i passed the lead car by the carousel lap 2.

Nascar + the 'ring because I really really dislike that track, and the practice it takes to get even remotely familiar with it takes an investment in time I'm not prepared to give due to its length.

It's a little ironic perhaps that I actually like driving Nascar cars.

I think Nascar on the Ring is PD humour much like the VW vehicles on the Top Gear Track.

Putting something with a global prejudice of "driving in circles" around the most complicated track in the game (didn't want to say the world because I'm sure I'd be corrected :)) is probably their idea of irony :)

The challenge isn't insanely hard, the toughest part is controlling the car in the lower gears (other than obviously knowing the track). If you hold the car together at a reasonable pace, it's so much quicker than the AI at speed that it's doable in stock tune.

This and the GTR were the only one's I did until they dropped the limits so the only really challenging event I've done was the GTR, which even with a good tune I was only catching the lead on the last bend.

I would rather do the RX7 @ Tsukuba or Nascar @ The Ring multiple times over than flogging that stupid Focus around Madrid. The rest of them have been relatively easy for me but that Focus challenge took some work. 👎

I found Focus Challange thoughest aswell since I hate FF cars :indiff:

Nascar at 'Ring was my fav, piss easy:) Love those cars (tho hate circle races with them) and 'ring is the bets track...

Anyway, diff person will find diff races though to win :)

I'm in your boat. I tried it a bit after hearing people claim it was the easiest of the second set. What I learned was I don't know squat about the "Ring". I do however like the track. It's a lot of fun to drive, but I'm a long ways from knowing it well enough to actually race on it.

Once I'm a bit further along in the game I plan to do the WRS qualifier. I'm hoping that will at least get me up to speed on the 2nd and 3rd sectors. Maybe after that I'll devote time to golding the 1st and 4th sectors.

Exactly. NASCAR was easy, just go easy on the pedals - I passed the lead car on the 1st lap (6:21) and it was easy sailing after that (6:14). I'm not a tuner, so there was obviously a lot left on the track if I could tune the thing correctly.

I'm kind of stuck with the Focus at Madrid. I'm trying to beat it w/o aids and with the original restrictions - right now I have the loosest handling Focus ever (maxed out toe in front and back to get the damn thing to turn)...it's doable, but rough.

I found the focus one relatively easily, tuned the suspension, added the cheap power mods (air filter etc) tunes the gearing. For me the gearing made the most difference. Lengthening the nascars gear ratio minimises the wheels spin and the longer gear means you an accelerate away from other nascars, even those drafting you especially On the huge straight swell as the two fast sections, sector 1 and the sector before the carousel.

I found the rx-7 the most challenging, until i turned on the srf option!

I enjoyed the Mazda one, just bought the most expensive Mazda in the Premium dealership, tuned it to the max according to regulations and just won.
I found the NASCAR one hard.
Then I used AMG Drving Academy to learn the Nurburgring.

I was never in control of the RX-7 at Tsukuba. It took me too long to gold the Prius race, I felt totally exposed as a poor driver.

Was this before or after restrictions were removed? I found the Focus one to be one of the hardest along with the NASCAR simply because even after dozens of tries I was many seconds off first.

are you talking about the rx-7 race at tsukuba? i thought it was a peice of piss, i nailed it with a bathhurst rx-7 with f/c gearbox set to 140mph racing medium tyres, f/c suspension.

In it's original format, racing medium tyres were not allowed. Most people (including me) found it very hard with the original sport (medium I think) tyres...

No doubt with racing medium tyre it is a damn site easier!

NASCAR at the 'ring :scared::scared::scared:
I'm with you there....I did no good at all with NASCAR @ the 'Ring. :indiff: :(
A couple of attempts was enough for me, though the cash on offer should make me go back before they disappear...;)

The nascar one is well worth just trying to get 2nd or 3rd as the money is not too bad. but seriosuly softening the suspension up for me made a massive difference. The nascar changed from turning and moving with the agility of a some kind of sea faring ship to being reasonable good, turning when /where I wanted with no understeer and controllable power on over steer.

Hardest for me was the Focus before the restrictions were dropped and without SRF. All the other have been doable. Honestly I can't see what was so difficult about the NASCAR-race..

 Your handling description is very accurate.
The car definitely needs softening up.
Won it last night on racing hard tires.
Its a pretty good challenge

I'm not sure which ones the hardest since I'm having to go back and do them again with the original restrictions.

I think it comes down to knowledge of the Nurburgring. Personally I've only done about 10 laps total on that track and suck royally. I tried the Nascar challenge and could only get as far as 9th and then couldn't hold that because I kept running into walls or spinning out. I find it takes 20-50 laps to get comfortable on a track. On the Nurburgring that's quite a commitment of time.

NASCAR hands down. Like trying to tango with a whale. Nailed it eventually, I just gave up blinking for about 15 minutes.

Its well documented that Nascars go well in straight lines, and very fast...but show them the odd corner and its a different story. I've seen them huge tankers in the ocean that can turn round 360 degrees in like 30 miles, pretty much the same for Nascars!
