well im in a bind, me and my friend have made an agreement to go 50-50 on a steering wheel for GT3 and GT4, well ive seen a couple of reviews and figured out that there are only 2 good ones (Logitech® Driving Force™ and Logitech® Driving Force™ PRO), the Driving Force is cheap (under $100cdn, and has force feedback, BUT!!!!!!!! NO SHIFTING WHILE TURNING!!!!!, ok now th PRO has 900 degree turning (perfect for GT4) , builty very well, BUT is $199 cdn....now my question is .......which one should i go with, and are there any others i should consider?????

Pros - It's Awesome.
Cons - Not being even more Awesome.

I sucks when it comes to makeing those types of lists.

Anyways, it is very comfortable, easy on the hands. Only confort problem I can think of right now is that it doesn't have a foot rest for you left foot. (unless you use both).

How do I use it? It's on a used computer desk and I sit on my bed with three pillows under me for my seat adjustments. And my tv is too close to my bed, so the desk is facing about 30 degrees to the right. Odd but it works.

I have a harder problem. I already have the DF (bought it at the same time I bought the PS2 and GT3), and it is a very good wheel, either with GT3 or with GT4 Prologue. So, my (PS2 related) money-spending plans for 2005 are:

1. GT4 (March)
2. Enthusia (acording to what I read, August/Spetember)
3. DF Pro (maybe December)

The DF will have to stand up to the job of mastering both GT4 and Enthusia. I think it'll do it.

But, since you don't have already the DF wheel go for the DF Pro. The 900º feature is awesome in terms of realism. I never quite understanded that until I saw the "Mazda Comparison" video in the Enthusia site. If you didn't see that yet, I strongly recommend it to you.

If you don,t own a wheel right now, go directly for the Pro model.
I have a regular driving force and it quite suits my needs.
My priorities are:
Winning Eleven8
GT4
Enthusia and then a driving force pro.

BUT!!!!!!!! NO SHIFTING WHILE TURNING!!!!!,
Is it such a big handicap ? I don't think race drivers shift just in the middle of the curve at the apex. They downshift before entering the curve and upshift after it right ?

In the UK the only good wheel I have ever seen is the Logitech GT Force wheel... it's like the Driving Force one (2ndpic there) but the buttons are diffrent and it has Gran Turismo logo's on it front and back.... anyone else own this one?

Go with the pro. You can get it on Buy.com right now for 100$ flat.

Pros: Great feel with GT4 and the handling feels completely different. It's like a whole new game :)
Cons: Shifter stick feels a bit soft, shifft BUTTONS instead of "paddles", the pedals still aren't as stiff as I would like, and the wheel is loud when you turn fast because of the gears. It makes a really annoying whiny sound :P

(yes I listed a lot of negatives but the wheel is definitely worth every penny)

I have it setup on a regular computer desk. BTW the old Driving Force's lap attachment won't fit the DFP incase anyone was wondering....
