Has anyone got any tips for this event please?
I'm using DS3, i regard myself as being very good at GT even if i do say so myself.
Golded everything else, Karts, Nascar, X2014 Goodwood but i cannot get better than Bronze!
Not even close, not even Silver but Bronze!

So, please you clever driving Gods, help!

Edit, all aids off

Maybe a stupid question... you have TC off right?
Yes sorry should have stated, all aids off but ABS 1,tried ABS 0 but still no good.

Normally on Rally cars i shift power balance to 50/50 but can't be done on the Evo RC

Head over to Tidgney's forum. he'll probably have a run through that you can study and use for pointers.

In case he doesn't (unlikely) the only advice I can give is that you have to be super aggressive especially in ensuring that you don't back off overtaking that first rabbit that kicks up so much snow you can't see the track......blind faith is needed, I took him on the left between the slight left kink and right kink coming off the hill. BTW the kink left then right can be taken at full speed if you get your line right giving you a significant advantage by the time you reach the end of the straight.

Hope that helps 👍

Thanks, its strange how i can do the well known "hard" challenges but i seem to be the only person struggling with this!
I do back off at that kink slightly.

Not at home until about an hour and half so can't give feedback till then.

Don't feel bad, it took me about 20 goes before I got brave enough to just go balls out with it....good luck. BTW can't remember if the RA menu was active on that one but I have a feeling I may have moved the brake bias towards the rear to help with rotation and as others have said TC@0.

It's strange how different people struggle with some events.....I struggle with the Karts but have no problems with rallying events (although I will admit that the rally events in GT6 are harder than in GT5, maybe due to the improved suspension and other stuff?). I vaguely recall the event but not the specifics. Only real advice I can give is don't be afraid to really push it as, most of the time, you can go a lot faster than you think you should be able to. Personally, I still brake late like I do on everything else and just fling the car into the corners. Which view do you use? On this save I have been using the in-car view but found it difficult for the rally events (along with most mission/licence events)...the chase-cam view I found much better as it gives you a better view of things and makes it slightly easier to see through the spray kicked up by the other cars.

If you need more specific advice, i am happy to go back and re-run the event (it'll be this evening) and give more specific advice such as corner speeds, where to overtake etc. Send me a pm or post on here if you want me to.

This one didn't cause me any trouble whatsoever, even though I suck at Rally in GT. If I remember correctly, you have to have past the Renault 5, as you enter the straight, otherwise you'll never make the time.
Brake early and hard on the first turn, but less that you would normally do on tarmac and let the car roll while you stear/drift thru the corner, hard on the power again while overtaking the first car.
Drift down the right hander on full throttle as you approach the straight and don't be distracted by the cloud of snow spraying from the R5.
Pass him on the left hand side as you enter the straight, otherwise, you'll be out of position for the next corner, coming off the throttle slightly, to make the little right kink.
Hard on the gas thru the straight, and brake sharp and hard as you approach a yellow sign on the left billboards and again, let the car roll, as you drift round the right hander, trying to get the nose to point to the back of the Subaru.
Make your way around the outside of the Impreza, (right hand side), pointing your nose to the left hander as you pass him.
The next couple of corners, are purely drifters as you keep pumping your X button of your DS3 and once your car is near enough pointing the right direction, full gas to the finish line.
Hope it helps bro! Let us know how you get on :D

Congratulations Phil...so satisfying when you finally beat an, otherwise, previously thought impossible event, especially when you do it having got great advice from this forum....now if only I could beat my bogey event lol. Congrats again 👍

Give us a try, is it karts?

For me it was the last 2 corners I was losing time on, when i figured that I could basically take them flat out, I did it easily lol

Hmmm...however did you manage to guess? :boggled:....yes, it is Karts and GT Arena and Shifter Karts!! I lost a significant percentage of my borderline sanity yesterday trying the event and failing. Am shortly off to lose the rest of my sanity by trying to work out why I can't do it (namely, why I can't corner as well as the AI). Wish me luck!!

Don't know if you are having the same issue as I was which was that I was trying too hard. With the shifter karts they will spin without provocation so you have to drive them carefully (you probably know this already). Try running at 90% throttle only and instead of using speed to get around the course concentrate on your line. The AI will slow up on lap 7 if you are behind as they do in all the races and as long as you're in the leading pack then you will nail it for sure

also.....

Don't hit curbs
Don't hit other karts
Don't get too frustrated lol

I didn't do this but I read somewhere that adding a little bit of ballast (20kg) to the rear seems to help stabilise the kart.....may be worth a shot.

Good luck 👍

Thanks. With 10kg ballast it is stable enough for me to mainly control it but I have found that over 7kg inhibits ability to turn too much. On a clear track I can do a lap in just under 28 seconds after a bit of practice so hope that's enough

One more trick, if you go and do an engine overhaul I think you get an extra couple of HP......every little helps :)

Yeah, I did that one before as I'd seen it on a post yesterday. Well, despite me controlling it, I just managed 3rd place twice, second time only 1.3 seconds off first! Even managed a 26.6 second last lap. Using 7kg ballast, I have found the equivalent of feathering the throttle and brakes using x and o buttons: normally I press the brake button and keep it held but found if I repeatedly press it the kart slows down better with no lock ups and, by doing the same with the accelerator, I can get it to turn much better.

I now have hope...wish me luck!
