I've noticed lately allot of people (including myself) have had white sections in there avatars where they should be filled with grey? I've checked everything in photoshop & it's defiantly all filled in, I even tried a blank file with colour in it, still white bits at the edge.

Can you post a screen shot? Because your avatar looks fine to me. Perhaps it's a rendering issue? What browser are you using?

Yes, I can see it as well. Firefox 2.0:

It shouldn’t be a rendering issue – if you open his avatar in a separate window, you can see that the physical image does indeed have that white half-border on it.

It seems to me that when the avatar is uploaded, vB must be doing something to the image. In Photoshop, are you sure that it’s exactly 120px across? What if you try saving it as a GIF or JPEG?

Welcome. :) But now the color’s off (at least on my monitor, and probably any monitor that’s been recalibrated) – when you export it from Photoshop, you need to have it remove the gamma profile (I don’t know how as I don’t have PS).

Are you using Safari? I noticed that some avatars' background color is off (like MK1's) in Safari, but in Firefox, they completely match.

Hmm, I saved it as a PNG but it has no invisible sections, then again I don't have a Mac.

I have trouble with that whenever im trying to make an avatar. I tried making the x i have having the outside border color be the same as the forum. for some reason when i screenshoted to get the color the pic came up lighter so my border was lighter and i had the white thing like you did.

edit: nvm figured it out, lol
