I know some people don't think straight but, damn!

So earlier tonight (it's 10:38pm right now) me and my mother go to the grocery store real quick to pick up a few items for the night and we leave at about 9:30pm. I was driving and we were driving on a two lane road that I always drive on(have to to get out of our neighborhood) and there's one large blind corner on that road and nothing was on the road at all when I first passed. When we came back at around 10:15pm I turn the blind corner and about 200ft infront of me I see something red and as I slow down to avoid it me and my mother both notice it's half of a friggin' car! So we pull over and I put the hazards on and the first thing i'm thinking is i'm about to witness the aftermath of a accident where a car split in half so I was shaking with fear. I was expecting to see pools of blood and a body or two near or around the car but nothing was there. Just half of a car with parts strewn all over the road both lanes. Well I figured then the other half went over the guardrail into the creek but I look at the guardrail near the area and I see no damage at all and I look at the concrete wall on the otherside of the road and see no damage at all so I'm puzzled. By then another car stopped too and the driver took a quick look around the car and said someone dumped the car. Sure enough the car was in half by some kind of tool (probably a plasma cutter) and a bunch of parts were piled in the half car. Long story short we called the cops and they came over then we left. Now I was just baffled how someone would just dump half of a car in the middle of the road.

Sad, sad. :indiff:

Here's a (very) crude drawing of the section of road.

It probably fell off of a trailer, and the driver didn't notice. (Does anyone ever notice when something falls off their trailer?).

I'd imagine metal scraping/rolling on asphalt is pretty loud? I'm just guessing i've never seen/heard an accident or even heard metal to metal crashing. But I'd imagine it's loud. It's a 35mph road and people usually go 40mph.

so that's where that went... thanks for letting me know!

I mean sure someone could have lost it on a trailer but it was on a turn and if it feel off from that wouldn't the car be on the otherside of the road if it fell from the corner?

Perhaps it fell of a lorry destined for the scrappers yard. Sure it probably made a sound, but I don't think for one second he thought it was something off his truck and thought about turning round to check.

Maybe someone was driving along, maybe going to the grocery store like you and half their car fell off and they didn't notice.

I thought you might need a car for yourself, and decided to meet you halfway on the cost.

Merry Christmas. :D

Looks like someone wanted to make an accident, so they dumped a half of a car in a blind corner, so the driver of one car (if it was going with speed) crash the half of the car. Maybe the other half is on another blind corner…

1. You drive on the wrong side of the road.

2. My theory is that the front half of the car got into an argument with the back and somehow split itself away from the back, fully knowing that the back half of the car wouldn't be able to move due to not having any engine.

However, if the car was rear engined i've just proven my theory wrong (UNLESS! The petrol tank was in the front and the engine in the back half of the car ran out of fuel. Unfortunately this theory is flawed, how could the front of the car carry on without having its own engine?

:p

I don't think someone would have just dumped it there, especially considering the rise in price for scrap metal.
