In the case of the Corvette C6 Z06, I kept the stock exhaust because it sounds much better than the racing exhaust (which probably includes chiselling two cylinders off the engine :yuck:)

Same with most of the other RM's, though not all...

totally agree did the same with my Z06

i kept all my cars with stock exhaust due to the sound they make is more real to the real life. But if my memory servers me well, Sube uses the one above sport exhaust but not the highest one to get the sound which you hear everyday on the road. Also RX7 uses sport exhaust as well.

If by Sube you mean Subaru, the burbly sound comes from unequal headers, not from the exhaust or boxer engine as many people believe.

I find the racing transmission much more off putting than any exhaust sound.

+1 to this thread. Infact, there arent many cars where I prefer the sound, nor the look of the titanium exhaust. I actually thing titanium tips look pretty cool in real life, but they are overdone in the game IMHO. Far too big, and shiny.

I change everything, including the exhaust & gearbox, but I agree that both mods do nasty things to the soundtrack in most cases.

Hmm, I will have to try this, last week was doing a comparo on Deep Forrest with the C5, C6 Z06's and the C6 ZR1.

Wait, you can put the stock exhaust on RM'ed cars? The only reason I don't have a Camaro SS RM is because they sound awful. I hope that you can put the original exhaust on it.

The Corvette RM sounds like crap without the stock exhaust... :(

Does anyone ever shift at the lower end of the rev? So basically, does any ever start accelerating HARD from 2000ish - 6000ish rpm in the lower gears and just a bit more in the higher gears?

Or accelerate slowly and shift early. Easier way of saying what I was trying to say, accelerate HARD and shift early. DUNCE CAP emoticon

If my car isn't going to raced online it is typically completely stock.

I also like the stock exhaust because I mostly race stock cars. Only use the racing exhaust for racing/tuned cars.

^ Actually, since one of the updates (likely 1.11), when you RM a car, you get it with a stock exhaust. A Titanium Racing exhaust also comes with this, but once installed from the car tuning page, it is permanent.

ya i notice if you modify "Catalytic converter", "exhaust", "transmission" will change the sound it makes. so I left them all stock.

I was thinking about doing that to my acura NSX, but then the sound of the car sounded exactly like a Lancia stratos. Made me decide to keep it. If I can, I'll show you guys what I did with this car, its like the old days back in GT1. Nostalgic.

If by Sube you mean Subaru, the burbly sound comes from unequal headers, not from the exhaust or boxer engine as many people believe.

I find the racing transmission much more off putting than any exhaust sound.

You may be right, even though everyone hates Subaru's on equal length headers

I dont "prefer" leaving my cars stock but now I buy Doubles of Cars I drift, one full tune and I do basic and reversable tuning to the Second. So for stock cars I may change out Exhaust or Suspension but No Engine tunes, No Chasis Tune. This is so I dont have to detune my cars as well as to battle Drifters on their Comfort Tires to shut them up about sport tires.
