So, who found GTPlanet because they were trying to find out more about drifting? It seems to contribute to being a "typical" noob. I confess, I was one of those people and that's how I found this place. I don't consider myself a "drifter" anymore though.

Nick

i found this place when i started to get bored with GT3...
and after i visited this place i started playing again...

i guess GTP saved my Gran Turismo "career"

oh and when i found this site, i was surprised by it's population...

i'd say that when i got here, drifting was at it's prime....

now it juss seems like wutevers....

when i was getting in to drifting and i was looking for some settings and my bro found that drift guide with the basic FC settings and it was linked to this site

When i started drifting i did a google search and it gave me the gallery of drift vids. Then i signed up on the forums.

I believe I was looking for settings with my 86, google just happend to pop up GTP, and from then on, the world was mind to command... or something of the sort.
(Vinkento begins singing Sorry 2004 (if you haven't heard it, then you haven't been listening to the radio long enough, get with the program))

I was looking around online and I found a drifting video for GT3 made by Brian Keikkler (sp?). I thought it was awesome because I never even thought of drifting in a totally car-technical game

so then start my drifting journey....I'm still at the very very early stages, but searching for settings and whatnot led me here.....

I had been drifting in GT3 for some time before I ever new about this place. However, I was searching around, one day, looking for other GT3 drifters. That's when I found "Gran Dorifto", then I contacted Cudaman, and he told me of of a few sites to go to, and GTP was one of em'. I signed up, and here I am............

;)

:D This is the perfect thread for me to make my first post on. I just joined the GTP forums. What brought me here? Well, haha. I found the Drift Videos on KaZaA to be honest. They were AMAZING to me. I wanted Gran Turismo 3 before but after seeing that I had to have it. Sadly, I have only just now obtained a PlayStation 2 but with those videos, I had to make sure that one of the first games I got, infact, the first game was to be Gran Turismo 3. (Followed shortly by Final Fantasy X and Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution with Xenosaga soon but back to the story!)

But sliding the car all over the place is not as easy as it was in Gran Turismo 1. I had could not understand how those videos had done it. :banghead: I would have liked to have known who this Bryan Heitkotter was that made the videos so I could ask himself how he did it.

Frustrated. I looked into the Drifting FAQ on GameFAQs.com but had no luck with that helping me out (as I am restricted to the control and have no steering wheel to use and will be unable to afford one for a long time). So I was pondering finally registering on the GameFAQs forums to ask people about it but I read one of the posts and someone else was having problems like mine and someone on the GameFAQs forum refered him here. But when I came here, I was AMAZED to see that Bryan himself is here and this is where those awesome videos had originated from! So here I am! I may have trouble but I am determined to find some success with the controls.

And I am hoping Bryan will come and post a reply here or something when someone tells him his videos brought a new member here! (I'm sure he's brought a number of people here with those videos of his!)

Bryan's videos are great but an unidentified video I found first, before his, is still the best one I've seen. There is a link to a site in it I believe and the site was all in Japanese so I can only assume the person was from Japan. He was using the Shigeno Trueno AE86 and the speed and precision he carried is truly unsurpassed so far. He was both extremely fancy and very fast. He's clearly also an Initial D fan (I'm sure a number of you know what that is, or I'd hope so!) because he used the Initial D opening and then a song off the soundtrack.

Tokyo, mind giving the name of the video or perhaps the link?

Anyways, on topic, I came here because my friend referred me here after seeing Initial D. I came here and saw Brian's video and ended up getting a PS2, GT3, Jak and Daxter, and SSX(*ugh*).

now I just need to get a capture card or something to record my videos...

There is no link to the file. I mentioned right in the beginning of the post that I obtained all the videos via KaZaA. (Which is why I'm amazed I found the message boards where the video's actual creator hangs out!) Unless you mean a link to the page address that is listed in the video itself. In which case, I don't think that would do you any good because the page is totally in Japanese. If you want that link, I'll post the link when I can. I'm not gonna do it now because the video is so demanding that I have to basically reboot the computer and run it with virtually nothing else running to get it work. But the name of the file was "Initial D - Gran Turismo 3 Style.avi", I don't think I renamed the file for any reason. I only do that when the names are overkill long or there is some other reason to do so.

But ha, another one led here by a combination of Initial D and Bryan's videos. I'm not surprised.

i found it when i was searching for GT3 Drifting. I thought it looked interesting and now im always on it.

i did also, but it seems soo long ago...
i first signed up as " wassabii " - but something happend to that account for some reason, so then i signed up a second time as
" kikkoman "

oh, and another thing.
