Who has actually successfully downloaded the update for the JPN version?

I don't know what number attempt I'm on, but I've lost any hope of downloading the fricken update before this weekend is over. However even if it boots me off, I just restart the game and try again.
I'll get there someday and actually join the conversation regarding Update II and it's wonderful modified cars + F40 + F2007.
Can't wait!
 
I did ! :) On Friday 28 in the morning actually (01H00~04h00: UTC+1). I got disconnected from the server for about two/three times or something and then it worked fine. It took me around 2 or 3 hours to download the 1.54GB update but I'm pretty happy since I was about to buy the PAL version.

Now I'm looking forward to the April 17 update bringing Peugeot cars. It will be a small one.
 
I only got disconnected once. It may be easier when the servers are not so busy (Japan time).
 
is there a way to download the update on the PC and than put it on the PS3?

It was exactly 612 MB.

Anyway, I too successfully downloaded the update. Tons of new cars and events, as well as splitscreen, new and improved leaderboards, more settings and options and ofcourse the High Speed Ring.
I was however pretty dissappointed to find no English language... :( In fact, the game should allow us to "pick a region" as well as language.

We're early adopters, the biggest fans of all. Not criminals.

I did it on first try. DL'd the whole thing in one shot.
 
i cant even get the update on the PAL version...

goes for a bit then has an error...
 
I got the download on my 5th attempt... Is extremely frustrating waiting for ages and ages, then coming back to your ps3 to find an error message... But oh so worth the wait!
 
I did download it. My download actually resumed. It was at about 90% and it failed. Then I restarted it clicking on the "news" icon and it the download bar moved fast to the point where it was before and downloaded the last 10% successfully.
 
Ok right now something popped up with an "ok" button that was bordered in red, so I pressed "x" and now its just sitting there with 2 lines worth of Japanese words and the 2nd line containing the first letters: PS
Anyone know whats up?

NVM, I just downloaded the update... FINALLY!
Time to do the I did it all myself route, start from scratch!

I tried about 20 times before getting it to download successfully. The time it successfully completed, it was 5am JPN time. So you might want to try around that time.
 
took me about ~40 tries to get it :P

Hey dude How did you get past that 2 lined Japanese message!! i am stuck on that and have no clue what to do... and i think i sent you more that one message and sorry if i did im new to this..
 
I've tried the PAL update twice and both times it's failed, has anyone found a way to resume from where you were up to, I tried going back through GT Video and it just started from the start again.

Actually it was 612mb, but required the extra room for installation before the installing file could delete it's self.

How do you know that ?

My actual HDD space required by GT5P is 6,886GB, it was 5,425GB (2,676GB GT-TV contents included) before the update.

Mine is a Japanese Blu-ray Disc, did you get the PS Store download maybe ? Or maybe you have the PAL game. Spec II alone requires 1,421GB on my HDD.

Or maybe by "after" you mean after the download and before the install reboot, not "now".
