I just want to know from anyone on the site who has actually played the latest Nurburgring demo about how the physics felt?

Was it similar to the Gt Academy demo?? Because i believed those physics were incredibly accurate!!!

Or was it similar to gt5 prologue???

Did you test the different tyre combinations out as well??? how did they feel??

ect

Interested to know........

I think he is'nt a gtplanet member but he already played the Ring demo!!
"Physics seemed a little bit more like Time Trial Demo than what it was in GT5 CES 2010 demo".by mimaximax

Also not everyone gets enough time to fully comprehend the physics. Just like testdriving a car and owning one.

I played the demo featuring the AMG SLS at the AMG performance drive tour event. I can't compare the physics with Prologue or any other demo, but was pretty impressed by the "professional" mode. Was fairly easy to lose control, and you had to be careful with the throttle. Felt pretty realistic to me.

Can anyone who has played a demo of late in professional mode, can you please talk some physics!!!???

Come on guys!

My dutch friends at http://www.gthq.nl/ have visited the Mercedes sales office in Utrecht last wednesday for a whole afternoon of testing the demo (and driving the SLS!). Check out their experiences.

Of course Games.com will be visited next wednesday by some of our GTP friends, and GTHQ will be there as well. Check out what they will write about it!

I'm quite sure the recent PS Beta in Birmingham had the Nurburgring track and for the summary of GT5 (beta) physics, Madmurdock did a great preview of the whole demo here. Or just the excerpt on the physics (and FFB):

Pro physics were amazing period.
The handling on pro setting was sublime and far exceeded GT5P in feedback and control. The amount of small inputs that you could apply was immense, with you able to correct small slides with a quick correction but at the same time knowing that if you tried a little harder you'd be off. It was easier to know and feel the limits of the cars than in GT5P but at the same time more precision was needed to drive well. You immediately could feel the improvements in all areas with the cars bouncing over bumps realistically, and sliding and moving about more so than in GT5P, but all the time giving you more feedback, therefore letting you know what the car was doing all the time.
You had so much more input when braking and it felt great for it. The cars dipped and slid and the feeling was immense.
The in-car view looked great with a slight shake giving you more of a sense of immersion.
The feeling of speed was also improved from GT5P, but not too much to be silly and unrealistic.
The thing that stuck in my mind was how much more you could push the cars than you could in GT5P. In GT5P it felt like you couldn't really rag the cars as they had a slight feeling of being on skates.
But this isn't evident at all in GT5. Even on pro you can really give the cars some stick, with a great sense of how ragged you're being. but this didn't take away the difficulty or make it easier at all. It felt better for it and more like how cars really handle than in GT5P.
Overall impression of the handling was WOW with no complaints at all.

The physics should by like the GT Academy, or an improved version of it, there is no way PD are going back to Prologue physics when Kaz has explicitly said this is the new physics engine for GT5

here is a guy who upload videos from gt5 , i forogt his name
but he drove a Viper ( or corvette iam not sure ) without much helps ( only 1-2 helps were open ) and he couldn't drive it because it was to hard for him ( normally he drove all gt demos without much helps but he couldn't drive the gt5 nordschleife demo )

The build used in the SLS AMG demo is very old (January 8th, 2009) and does not show the new Nurburgring (Nordschleife), just an upgraded version of the GT4 one.

All I can say is that the physics are much improved over Prologue and the horn works!

I'm not referring to anybody in particular, but to judge physics I think people need to drive what they can actually drive in real life. There's no point in driving a high powered supercar and judging them by how quickly ontrol is lost.

Totally. But some people have.

I have been driving some GT5 demo's in February and the SLS AMG demo at the Mercedes garage.

Always put Professional and all aids off.

It is very in line with the GT series and not as extreme as the GT Academy demo was. However I did not drive the Indy Road course so it is a bit difficult to compare.

Clearly the grass might be a bit more slippery then GT5p, not as slippery as GT Academy.

GT5 demo's in February I found very close to GT5p.
SLS AMG demo at the Mercedes garage, I found had quite a good reaction on spinning out the back when your really pushed it. The car does have a lot of power!

GT5 will have physics that will suit most drivers (easy to very hard), I believe.
Expecting a teaser for GT5 soon (long announce demo), let's see what that will give.

Physics are physics. You don't need to completely recreate what you are doing in game to know if the physics are good or not. If you wanted to know if it's 100% realistic, you'd need to actually drive the real car and game car back to back, but you could probably "feel" 80-90% realism.

I know I could list all the problems in GT4 driving a P1 car and I've never driven one of those in reality.

I hope the physics are nothing like the awful Time Trail physics or anything like GT4. I just dont see how people can think they had good physics. It felt like driving a brick on tires with glue on the tires. Any sign of sliding and you would just be thrown off the track.

As far as I’m concerned there will never be a sim that can duplicate the real thing, yes even the wet dream of GT5 will never stack up, so even the best physics sim out there will always be a joke to anyone who has had the opportunity to do it for real, considering there are no G forces. Take it for what it is, a video game and that is all it will ever be. But I’m really stoked about it coming out soon because I can’t always be in my race car.

There is games that can come close and games that just screw it up. Hopefully GT5 is one of those games that comes close to replicating it. You cant make a game real and Iam sure everyone knows that already.

With the testing ban in effect for F1 I think some of the teams would disagree about how close you can approximate reality in a sim.

Obviously nothing will ever be "real" due to the inability to simulate the g-forces they have to withstand when in the vehicle. But everything to do with vehicle dynamics from tires to the fluid dynamics of the aero properties of the car can be modeled. Accuracy for these professional setups is enough to allow them to try different suspension, tire, and aero properties in the sim. Using the sim to set up the real life vehicle.

Saying it can't be done, and it's just a game is silly when the very definition of a sim is to model these properties as accurately as possible. Hopefully PD tried as hard as they could. If they didn't then they're just competing with arcade racers and have no right to call it "the real driving simulator".

can you please talk some physics!!!???!

Physics (Ancient Greek: φύσις physis "nature") is a natural science that involves the study of matter[1] and its motion through space-time, as well as all applicable concepts, such as energy and force.[2] More broadly, it is the general analysis of nature, conducted in order to understand how the universe behaves.[3][4][5]
Physics is one of the oldest academic disciplines, perhaps the oldest through its inclusion of astronomy.[6] Over the last two millennia, physics had been considered synonymous with philosophy, chemistry, and certain branches of mathematics and biology, but during the Scientific Revolution in the 16th century, it emerged to become a unique modern science in its own right.[7] However, in some subject areas such as in mathematical physics and quantum chemistry, the boundaries of physics remain difficult to distinguish.
Physics is both significant and influential, in part because advances in its understanding have often translated into new technologies, but also because new ideas in physics often resonate with other sciences, mathematics, and philosophy. For example, advances in the understanding of electromagnetism or nuclear physics led directly to the development of new products which have dramatically transformed modern-day society, such as television, computers, domestic appliances, and nuclear weapons; advances in thermodynamics led to the development of motorized transport; and advances in mechanics inspired the development of calculu

can you please talk sense 8^)

lucag120 did ask to talk about Physics. They didnt mention in what sense they wanted to talk about physics.

That opinion might have something to do with how you drive. It looks like you prefer to drift and there is a drift mode for that. But you can't apply the same driving when racing. More tire noise typically means less traction and acceleration. It's easy to say GT4 physics aren't accurate after 5 years and the Time Trial physics were an improvement imo, but then again that's all it really is when it comes to rating physics; opinions will vary.
