Hi All,

As the title implies, I am (desperately) looking to purchase one of these wheels. They seem to be out of stock in the lower 48 states at this point. If you have found one, or a company that has them available, please post the link here. This is not a thread to debate the wheel or anything else related to the academy.

Thanks for looking and I appreciate any help or leads you can share.

Sincerely,
Joe

Also, CALL to order. Don't use the web, their site may not be up to date.

All I did was google t500rs. Then on the right side of the page where it says "Shop for T500RS on google" look at the bottom of that and click "$450-$1000".

Next to the first listing you will see a button that says "Compare Prices" Click that. Then go to each place. I suggest calling because many sites don't keep their online inventory up to date.

best I can do to help.

Thank you zer05ive and mrbasher for the hot tip. I just processed the order over the phone from Comet. I REALLY appreciate this guys. Thank you so much for your help.

:) Have fun with your new wheel. That wasn't even a horrible price considering :)

These guys better come through for you or I'll feel really guilty.. Heads up on the suggestion I posted in the S.N.A.I.L. thread. Please let us know how it goes!

The T500rs has been out of stock in the states for at least 7 months now. I'm afraid to say they most likely have been discontinued.

Any other leads?

I need one too.

Thanks in advance!

ShopBLT.com, you can check their real-time availability with ETA provided by manufacturer. Going by dates stated, next Monday they should be in-stock. Might be sooner also for the large companies so might even get a good offer. This is all subject to ETA date being correct. Just checked a few more websites and this one has ETA even sooner: Link and also seen a few websites have it on backorder and expect it to be available in 1-2 weeks so don't be surprised to see many places with stock in next week or two.

Thanks for the leads guys!

Sadly Amazon outside of the usa is refusing to ship :(

I am not interested in the F1 unit because I need to be able to shuffle steer with street cars when they get sideways.

That Ebay one is interesting, as is that website Shopblt. Will check those out in the morning. Thanks again!

Easy enough to swap the F1 wheel out tho, and TM has that new Ferrari GT rim now. I switched my wheel to a cheapie ebay wheel with a DSD adapter, and it makes a big difference to me. Lighter, larger and no buttons to hit by accident when I'm spazing out. =)

Oh really? I had no idea that was an option!

Do I need an adapter to use the Ferrari GT rim?

Can you provide any info on the wheel and adapter you added?

The new Thrustmaster Ferrari GT 458 wheel is a direct replacement, it mounts just like the F1 rim and the original GT wheel mounted. Just unscrew the F1 rim from the wheel base, screw the Ferrari rim on in it's place.

AWESOME~!!!

I just ordered the T500RS Ferrari F1 wheel with the GT 458 Add-on.

Amazon gave me 12 months same-as-cash with overnight shipping ($72/mo for 12 months).

Brilliant.

Thanks everyone!

Anyone wanna buy a G27? :)

Cool :) Thanks for all your help Neo and Gunstar.

I was nervous about going to the GT Academy finals and using a wheel I had never touched before, but with your help I will be much more confident at the nationals in two weeks. If I win it all, you guys get a big chunk of credit :)

Sorry for OT, but oh my, how could I miss this. Used the t500 rs at a friend's place a while ago and absolutely hated the static paddles.

After watching the ISR test, the new paddles seem somewhat close to the fixed ones. Any guys with big hands tested this and can tell me if it has been an lingering issue for them?

There's about an 1 1/4" space between the paddles on the 458 wheel and the static paddles. I've never had a problem but of course YMMV. I would say if you've used the F! wheel and did not have a problem with the paddles you won't with the 458 wheel either.

If the paddles end up bugging you, it only takes about 2 or 3 minutes to remove them. Just a couple screws really.

Personally, when I first used the rim, my fingers would hit the static paddles every now and then. I had to remember to keep my fingers in at first.

Remember, they are mapped to the same buttons that the GTE rim paddles are mapped to. So if you just plan on running the GTE rim, for good, you may as well just remove the static paddles.

Thanks alot guys. I'd definitely not use the normal wheel, so I might still have a small chance that TM brings a version which includes the GTE wheel; iirc there was a version that came with the F1 wheel available for a while.

Playing mostly on PC, but won't buy till I have my PS4 delivered, to make sure every last doubt about compatibility will be removed. Who knows, maybe one of the wheel manufacturers will surprise us with a completely new or a revamped wheel around next gen launch.
