Found a new love for those cheap cars :P. They are quite addicting to drive as they act nicely compared to other games. FF cars aren't under rated and don't spin their tires at every turn, FR cars are fun to drive, smaller cars and (sadly) even the Prius are interesting cars. I'm going on a buying spree right now to nab some cars.

Who here also likes the slower everyday cars too? (or atleast prefers the way they are represented in GT5)

Well having gone back and finished the early series lupo cups and cooper etc that i skipped it is relaxing to drive the more tame cars since you a lot wider margin for error then your monster cars in your garage.

Dunno if i would say i enjoy them more because putting a lupo around nurburg just does not have the same thrill and omg i am going to die edge that throwing around a lambo or ferrari with no driver aids on has, but they are fun to drive in their own right since you can do things that would get you killed in that lambo or ferrari.

Reminds me of a thread on gamefaqs for gt4 where you took out cars on nurburg you would not normally drive, drive them stock, and then write a small report on the car likes/dislikes how it handled the track was it fun to drive etc. Fun thred think i discovered the cheapie tvr car there that i picked for my lap.

me and my friends had some epic battles in the daimler motor carriage GT4!! nothing like a time trial where 1 second = eternity:sly:

I was in for a surprise when I bought the volvo 240 estate out of passion for the boxy wagons

Revised the engine, invested a lump of money on upgrades and off to online races we went! Even managed to score some awesome overtakes on more recent hot hatches.

Turning ABS off is also a joy, in tight corners she swings like a pendulum but, being rwd still manages to hang on - not to mention the smoke curtain the lockup provides a nice diversion...:sly:

So yeah slug turned into a beautiful butterfly in my case 👍

I enjoy flogging the '83 Ballade Sports CR-X around Autumn Ring Mini. That seems to be my haven for slow, light cars.

I like them, what I don't like is that (since they are all Standard cars) PD doesn't seem to have tweaked their center of gravity since GT4, from what I tested. Some of them are unrealistically hard to roll over. Look at this image, for example (sorry for the size):

After many attempts in rolling over this Daihatsu Move, one would expect that the car, since it's quite tall (over 170 cm in height) would rest on the window side, but instead it keeps trying rebalancing itself to the upright position, and in this photo you can see it resting on its wheels (although it's supposed to be a top heavy vehicle), actually just because there was the fence there preventing it from going back to its original position.

This vehicle too (Honda Life Step Van, here in a custom black paintjob. Too bad that wheels can't be changed on standard cars), another quite narrow and tall standard kei car, behaves the same: essentially almost impossible to roll over, when you think it's about to manage that, the car seems to try hard rebalancing it self in its upright position:

Did anybody else experience this odd behavior with their cheap, tall and narrow slug cars?

Still, I like them, and actually several of them because of their low weight when fully tuned are quite capable of being competitive despite their low power. In general I find them more fun to drive than bigger, faster cars.

Yes, Autumn Ring Mini and Tsukuba seem the only places where slow, light cars are quite fun to drive.
Too bad there aren't many other similar small tracks for them.

I like going and buying cars I know from the real world are a bit of a sleeper...

Like the 3.0 Toyota Aristo...Boring looking car, cheap...Oh wait, there’s a 2JZ from a Supra in it. Or the R31 GTS-T....RB30...Awesome motor.

Also been having fun in my SS Commodore...Done what everyone is aus does in real life, exhaust, pod filter & ECU. And funnily enough, it’s close to the actual power you’d get from a LS motor with those mods....Only difference being the ECU would be substituted for a MAFLESS tune in real.

Oh and I enjoy flogging the little Nissan Micra around cos it’s my daily driver in real!

I have to love em. GT crashing / freezing corrupted my hard drive....No Back up so, start again this afternoon. Had some good games online with the MX5 Miata....Those that tolerated me...Didnt win anything but found a strange joy in trying that bit harder! Sometimes I tried a bit hard and put it in the "golf range". Other times I did pretty well and was chuffed to bits to only lose a second on a lap. I picked mostly low star races but people were driving Evo's and the like.

I have to say the slower cars are a lot more fun to drive. Driving the nurburgring, with a space rocket, with force feedback on 10, for 5 laps or more makes me ache!

I even got the chance to test the damage model with a French guy who thought it was mildly amusing to drive a Veyron on fuji, get infront and ambush me.....To be honest it was quite funny! The car did actually drive like it had broken suspension! I did half a lap to the pits with the wheel half round to drive straight!

More Slug rooms would be amazing in my book. Not just cause i dont have any cars or money again. Because they are actually the best races. Ok I do like trying to get a sub 1:40 round Grand Valley with an FTO super Touring or putting some BHP on the grid at Suzuka....But I gotta say racing mini's around the nurburgring was the most fun ive had for a long time! Oh and it does take a long time!

Aside from trying to roll them over and be disapointed with they way they are balanced...

I am poor in GT5 cause I keep buying cars! I can't help it! I just like to own cars

I fully modded a Daihatsu Midget II earlier for Bob, I took it out for some laps at Autumn ring it was fun to throw around some turns

I have yet to take the Kubelwagen around the 'ring. LOL.

I really am not a fan of the slowest cars in the game. The slowest cars in the game I enjoy driving are sport compacts. Try out some of your slow cars on a Track Editor course made with one of the kart themes. 👍

My Mazda Autozam could probably be the lowest powered drift car available if tuned right, that thing is slide happy! In fact, I probably should go out and turn it into a drift car...
