I found a copy of WRC for myself for only $5 almost as soon as I walked into the store. I've already cleared a season on normal difficulty and I just started a new game on professional difficulty using the Citroen Xsara...I still haven't beaten the first race! I keep getting 3rd or 4th place! But the game is great overall, I just wish the later installments of WRC would've been released here in the U.S.:grumpy:

The rallying is so great though, as one would expect of a game being based on the pinnacle of rally racing. I had a great deal of trouble at the end, even on normal, at the the Rally of Great Britain.

wait, are you still playing wrc1?or are you playing wrc evolve?didnt play the game for a long time.....it was the best rally game just next to colin mcrae.....

I have a demo of WRC 4... it's the greatest rally sim you'll ever play. Physics and visuals are top-notch!

I beg to differ, but none of the WRC or Colin McRae series even get close to Richard Burns Rally in terms of physics. RBR is easily the best of the rally sims (on console or PC).

However depending on your location in the world it will be a bit difficult to get, as I believe it only got a PAL release for the PS2.

Agreed with that. I have that game and it swipes the socks off the others such as WRC. I mean, don't get me wrong but WRC is a good game but if you really want a serious, realistic rally sim then RBR is the way to go. But the diadvantages with RBR is that although the game is very good, it doesn't have the same variety of cars that WRC has or Colin McRae. So if you want cars then WRC or Colin McRae is the way to go, but for pure rally sim then RBR is soooooo good.

Also does anyone know if Evolution Studios are planning on another WRC game? It has been almost...well forever since the last one which was..well not brilliant infact the last good one was WRC 4, Rally Evolved wasn't brilliant.

The original poster is in the US. WRC (2002) and Colin McCrae 3 are the best that's available here and neither are an easy find. I have acquired V-Rally 3 but am rather disapointed that my old Madcatz wheel won't work with it.

Yep, still playing WRC1, don't have a PSP to be able to play Evolve (was that the one for PSP?). I've seen some gameplay vids of RBR on youtube, seemed cool, but not here in the US for PS2? Aaagh. If only more Americans were interested in WRC/rally racing in general then they might release future installments here as well.

no, Rally Evolved is the fifth WRC game for the ps2. For the psp it is just WRC. But the psp version is no good.

Stick with WRC4. Or better with GT4 :)

I'm sure they are working on it considering the success of their previous WRC games. I suspect most of their attention over the last year was on MotorStorm, and now they can work on a next gen WRC game.

After everything I've heard about Colin McRae: DIRT (mostly bad), I am really hoping a new WRC happens sooner rather than later. Sega Rally Revo is supposed to come out next month on the PS3 so that may turn out to be a decent game. And it is rumored that Codemaster is making a special edition of CM: DIRT for the PS3 that will come out later this year which might give them time to fix some of the problems found in the X360 version as well as add additional content to take advantage of the greater disc capacity of the PS3.

In the meantime, I agree with others, Warthog's Richard Burns Rally and Evolution Studios WRC 4 are currently still the best Rally games.

i play the wrc world championship rally game for psp and i must say its not that bad. It has damage which decreases the cars acceleration and top speed. The more damage the car sustains the slower it gets.

rbr has over 120 cars now, and soon we will have many real life stages. a track creator/editor has been released as well.

The colin mcrea games are soo much better even has a few group b cars

but the licensed wrc games there so boring and easy

I've got WRC II: Extreme for the PlayStation 2. I've had it for years but don't play it much; it won a copy of it when I took out a subscription to some rallying magazine or other (that never arrived on time) and I didn't have a PS2 until recently ...

I totally forgot about this thread....anyways,i do hope CMR:DIRT is coming out on the PS2 (is it  ) and i also hope there is another WRC game coming out.RBR is could be said, one of the most realistic (if not) the best rallying game out there but too bad theres no sequel. The game really separates the men from the boys, unfortunately i was a boy :ouch:

The physics was very hard to get by.I barely even passed my license test! And i never finished a stage without crashing, engine exploding, etc.(although i could finish a stage with the damage off but what fun would that be?) Its (to me) the hardest driving physics in a racing game.(even get a 2/5 on X-Play) But this game is for Hardcore Rallying Fans only! Did anyone get to finish the game by the way?

I belive it's for the 360, PC-DVD and the Playstation 3.

I don't have a Primarely Rally Game for PS2, all I have is all the GT games that include rally(GT2,GT3,GT4). It really doesn't matter What rally game I get out of WRC, Richard Burns Rally or Colin Mcrae, I'd love to have a rally game.

I love rally games:D, they certainly are my favourite.
Ive been playing them ever since i can remember, and i am currently playing one now.
By the way I have colin Mcrae 1,2,3 and 2005, Richard Burns rally:tup:,Race of champions (PS1) and WRC rally evolved.

I bought WRC 2 Extreme which I was really dissapointed with, thought I wasted my money because the physics were really odd (hit a wall and you would bounce in the sky and roll 20 times) and the damage was unrealistic (there was none unless you hit a wall ridiculously hard).... I got WRC 3 hoping it would be better and it was in terms of physics but it was abit drab, after that I didnt really bother again...

I have WRC Evolved, but I can't seem to play it anymore. When I load it up on my Playstation, nothing happens, there is just a black screen. And I have only owned it for about 2 weeks, but still, awesome game!
