Found a site with a really cool vid. Apparently conrstarch and water act as a vibrated shear thickening fluid, or depending on how the liquid is perturbed, its viscosity will change form thin to thick.
This is the site, check out the vid, it begins kind of boring but gets really trippy in the last 30 sec or so: http://chaos.ph.utexas.edu/research/vibrated_cornstarch.htm (site was slow to load for me)
This is an experiment to play with at homei foyu get really bored or think it is cool: http://www.seed.slb.com/en/lab/cornstarch/
Personally I found it amazing.
