See that ^. That's currently my mouse and much to my chagrin its acting up. The left button is not as responsive as once was, and only few days ago someone told me there is a newer version(Annoying, since I didn't buy this one all THAT long ago). Now with the plenthora of gaming that I do on COD4 (like to make sure i double or more my amount of kills to amount of deaths), recently Red Alert 3 and fiddling around with Photoshop for Batracer n other stuff, a dull responding left button is not an option..... YOU HEAR ME!

I've had a Creative Optical 5000 in the past and that went a bit funny also, so just wondering what you guys would recommend? Normal mice like what I have, or a gaming mouse? Something that will put up with FPS game playing and Photoshop clicking.

I would say, its probably stuck somehow. Unless you manage to fiddle with the settings.
I always play FPS on my laptop and sometimes a RTS though my Mice of choice would be Logitech brand mouse. I've had my current mouse for probably two years now, its being thrown by my nephew and the clicking never stops because of StarCraft, WarRock or Ragnarok Online and I work in PHotoshop and PHUN the majority of the times.

My brother and I have been using the MX518 for a couple of years now. It's a great gaming mouse and it feels the same now as when it was new, except for the worn down logo.

Get the Logitech MX Revolution, by far the best mouse I've ever owned. It's precise, comfortable, and the battery life on it is quite good even with heavy use. The price is a bit high, although you can find it on sale or fairly cheap on the net, but don't let that stop you.

^ This.

No seriously, it is that great. I just wish the SetPoint software wouldn't keep resetting my mouse settings for each program.

One more vote for the Logitech MX Revolution. It's a very comfortable mouse to work with. I'm not a fan of installing "mouse software" so I can use the features, but I still love the mouse - the feel of it is excellent and it's not single-purpose like those gaming mice with buttons dedicated to increasing or reducing sensitivity (I find those useless)

This MX Revo seems the leader so far.

Just following on, anyone have opinions on mousemats? Worth using or ignoring? I currently just run this Microsoft one over the desk but figured I'd ask if mousemats are worthwhile.

The only time I use a mouse pad is if the surface is too reflective. Otherwise, just the tabletop.

I have a Microsoft Razer Habu and I'm really happy with it. It's cabled, but I like not having to worry about batteries or signal strength.

I want to get the new Microsoft Blue Track mouse with its fancy technology but my old faithful IntelliMouse Explorer is just too damn good, I dont think it will ever break!
