Who run GT3 on a computer monitor ?

I run my PS2 through a computer TV Tuner card. The resolution is better than with a TV, even if the image looks a little "washed" compared to the image with a TV.
When running Windows I use the Dscaler application, and TVtime with Linux.
GT3 looks great this way, it has more details than on a TV, so imho that helps me to drive better.
Does anyone use a similar setup ? what do uyou think of the image quality ?
I purchased an adapter to connect directly the PS2 to a monitor, without going through the computer, but didn't like the result.
I hope this is not O.T.

My opion is it is just too much trouble and it cost more. I am doing just fine with the tv.

I use the video in on my Radeon 9600XT. The big advantage to me is that I don't have to move my Driving Force Pro around. It's in the same spot whether I'm using it with the PS2 or on my PC.

I use my VIVO from my 5600FX and one of these to convert the RCA cables to a 3.5mm stereo plug for the mic input on my sound card.

I use Intervideo Windvr 3 to view it which also records nicely.

Seems to have less 'flickies' then on my TV, I prefer this setup as I can record easily.

Well that is a good point about being able to record it easier. I might just have to save a little money up. Plus it would go with my PS2 case, i mounted it in an old pc case so it looks as im playing PS2 games on a pc. I was bored and i have a dremel.

My computer monitor is better than the TV I'm using, I'll have to try ASAP

I got a 16 inch TV and a larger ( I don't know the exact size. ) computer monitor. But I do like to use the computer to do write ups in GT3 though. So its kinda in the "balanced" area of me getting one.

I can't see the point in using a small monitor, paying for extra cables etc while like me and 100's of others more can make do with the good old fashioned set up with a wide screen tv.
It just makes more sence.

I could, but my monitor is dying and my TV card is quite old. Although DScaler does seem to improve the picture quality when i'm recording.

Can someone please tell me if there are any advantages of using it on the computer screen and if possible have 2 pictures to compare 1 from TV 1 from computer.
Thanks.

I think it'll be impossible to compare the two with pictures, ones taken with a camera will only blur or show the refresh rate of the TV, as thats only 50-60htz on conventional TVs and monitors can go well over 120. (I know TV's can go alot higher now, but I'm talking about the ones the majority of us use).

The only reason I set mine up on my monitor was so that I could capture like that, but I've found that it's a fair bit clearer with less flickies in the distance and once I get a wheel I can just mount it to my desk.

I ave a Winfast TV2000XP Deluxe but wverytime i ave tried using Dscaler wit it, the program always crashed on me so i just use Winfast PVR which comes wit the Tuner. The images on the monitor i've found to be more smoother than on TV. The ones on TV are sharper. I prefer using the monitor coz i ave a nice sound system on it and the sound is way better coming through a 5.1 system than just the TV speakers. The prob. is that i always ave to finetune the channel i use coz i gotta remove the antenna plug in the PS's cable. That always pisses me off.
